Worked for me.
I bought it on Saturday incase they ran out of them.
So Monday I went to 1 BB (there are 3 in my city) and said "HEY I bought this on saturday and its cheaper now."
So I got the $50 rebate.
Then I went to another BB and just brought the recibt and got the PM.
It went very slick.
(I drive for work and happened to be by the different BB at the time. ANd just incase someone thought they would try and screw with me.)

Which Staples? $49.99 after coupon or not?
The one near my place doesn't have those in stock, or display models.

Staples in Bennington, VT no coupon needed, price on shelf.

Scored one last night for ~$65 w/ tax - $50 MIR = $15. Girl at CS desk had no problem PM'ing but couldnt figure out how to get the register to credit me back the difference. It only wanted to give me in store credit. Another girl came over and tried and finally told me the computer (register) won't let them do anything but store credit. I said no, done it before. Finally they did a return, then on a separate transaction let me purchase it for $59.99. They were trying to do both on the same transaction before. Neither of these girls were managers AFAIK. Has something changed or were they just not knowledgable enough to do it normally?
BTW, is BB supposed to do a 110% PM or just 100%?

Only thing about this is that both cords are attached to the receiver, so if you don't use both mouse and keyboard, you have a coiled up cable there. A little messy looking. Wish it unplugged. I on't be using this plain mouse since I've got an Intellimouse Explorer.
Also Logitech's aren't known for excellent drivers. Too bad this isn't a microsoft keyboard. You only need the Logitech keyboard drivers for the extra buttons though, right?

I think they do 110% if you take it to CS after buying it. I made a mistake by asking cashier to PM and she did 100% not 110% and told me you have to buy it and bring it back for 110%.

Yes, you need Logitech software for extra buttons only.

i must say this is a HOT HOT HOT deal! i mean 5.99???!!! thats insane! esp for me cuz i dont have tax. however, if it were much more i wouldnt buy the thing. try moving the mouse rapidly accross the screen, you will get a choppy mouse ill bet. i used to own this, then sold it to a friend for $50. i bought the MX700 and a logictec corded keyboard for something like $25. the MX700 is SO tight, if i were to reccomend any mouse to ANYONE, it would be the MX700. the little bro of the 700, the MX300 (corded edition) is ok too, but i have actually heard worse reviews on it, but i dont know from personal experience. the choice is yours, and i would choose the 5.99 for this deal, but if you have to pay more, then i would pay the extra few bucks to get true quality.

Wouldn't it also work to buy it online from BB, then you can use the online rebate? I'm talking about having it shipped to you, but what about in store pick-up? Never done that...

Thoughts?

What a deal!!! I'm writing from my new keyboard, and it is awesome! It was $10 after taxes, and they didn't give me any questions about the pricematch at the BB in Katy, Texas. They had at least three more on the shelf.

Thanks Dudes!!!

Glendor out...

if you buy more than one with different cc, but the same name, will both rebates still work? i usually pay cash for one and cc for the other.

For the two of us that wanted to know, here's an excerpt from an email I just got from Logitech:
The MX700 mouse and charging base/receiver unit must be used exclusively together as a set. If you wish to use another cordless device in addition to MX700 mouse, you will need to use separate receivers for the two devices. This is because the MX 700 uses Fast RF Technology and is only compatible with a C-BF16-MSE cordless receiver. Other Logitech cordless devices will not be able to communicate with the MX 700 receiver and vice versa.
However, the news isn't all bad...
Shortly Logitech will release a Cordless keyboard combination that includes the MX 700 and the Cordless Elite keyboard.
So, for the meantime, I think I will continue using my Maxi Touch keyboard...which, manufactured on 8-26-92, is easily the oldest component in my system by about 8 years...but still kicks mucho asno

Jus t got it, it is exactly the same as the corded one but it doesn't have the indicator leds. it doesn't however ruin throught the recvier that came with the MX 700. That is only margianlly disapointing since the reciever for it is pretty small and can be left behind and out of the way.... Oh and John the asshat was working...but I got a different CSR so it went through without a hitch...advice.. if you are ever in Corpus Christi for any od forsaken reason, and you are3 shopping in Best Buy, don't try to pricematch with the CSR named John, he is an asshat.

I got shut down twice. I first asked for the pricematch and then the rebates. They got the manager and she informed me that I couldn't get both. So I got the pricematch with no rebates slips. I didn't see if they printed out or not. They were fumbling around with the pricematch slip. Then I went and paid full price and went back a day later for the pricematch and they said I couldn't get a pricematch even though I had the product in my hands with the UPC symbols still intact. A warning screen or something came up on the computer. So I returned and kept the rebate slip. I haven't decided if I want to keep it or not. I am curious why some people are getting away with this without a hitch and I got smacked on the hands twice.

Also, does anyone know if it is truly "policy" that you can't have the pricematch and the rebates? I don't understand this. I didn't think they could refuse you a pricematch just because they are offering a rebate that you may or may not send in.

I got the set but can't find my receipt for the rebate. They can't print another one cause I paid cash. Is there anything I can do?

you messed up when you asked for rebate. you can find those things online. as long as you get your PM, just go to bestbuy.com for your slips.

I believe he purchased it in-store, so online rebate forms won't work. So he did nothing wrong.

You don't need rebate receipt just make a photo copy of your receipt that should work.

BoKing I appreciate you posting the update, I live in Chicago and I just registered on this forum today. I'm gonna have to jump in on this deal as soon as I can cuz it does sound very good.

I've been Jonesing for the Logitech MX700 mouse. Does this combination package include a similar mouse?

EDIT:
Rats, i just checked on Logitech's website and it shows that it does NOT include the MX700.

Here's my dilema: The director of our office is a really cool guy and to make a long story short he has the exact same wireless keyboard sitting in his office which he says he cannot use and is willing to let me have it. Problem is that I need the wireless receiver piece since he is using it with his wireless mouse. So he says as long as i can find the reciever part, I can take the keyboard. Until i saw this thread today, i was gonna bite the bullet and buy the MX700 mouse but now i'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions? Like I said, i've been wanting the MX700 since i'm a moderate gamer -- I like all the extra buttons.

One more question. I've never done a deal like this before. Lemme see if i got this right.... Go to BB and buy the Elite Duo for $99.99 (before tax). And then go the customer service counter and tell them that Office Max has the same product for less and ask for a price match right? So after that what am i supposed to get, will they actually give me a credit on my Visa card for the additional $44.00????

Someone please spell this out for me - thanks.

They will credit you back a portion of what you originally paid earlier.

The whole thing is about a long shot that the person you talk to at the returns/exchanges counter WIL NOT KNOW that there is a BB rebate for this product. If they do, they will tell you that you can either get a rebate or a price match but not both since Office Max has no rebate for this item and BB does.

Now, it's nothing short of amazing to see bitches posting here whining when they can't get both.

This only works if the Best Buy person DOESN'T KNOW about the rebate. This deal is a long shot from the get go.

If it works - great.
If not - no loss because you are to assume it wouldn't from the beginning.

OK, I have a question. If I buy this with my BB credit card, get the PM, is there a greater possibility that the rebate center can see that I got a PM? Or will the credit on the BB card just show up as a general credit? I like the 90 days no payments idea, b/c then I should have the rebate by then, no cash out of pocket!

Also, if you don't get the PM, just return it and move on to the next deal...
