try putting it in your pocket with your keys. Don't move around too much. You wouldn't want anything hitting the primer

Another wannabe "Great White Hunter" rears his stupid head....

I've hunted ALL DAY with pockets stuffed with a mix of 12 gauge, 7.62, 30-06, 44 mag and .22LR ammo. Along with my lighter, smokes and keys. I've reloaded more 12 gauges shells then you've ever SHOT. I've probably shot more by now then you ever will in your life.
So please, keep the discussions to those who know, and dont pretend to be something your not. Go out to the danceclub or bar or something.

When I go hunting, I follow safe firearm and ammunition handling rules....and you don't....yet I'm the stupid one?

Considering how little you know about guns, I seriously doubt you've EVER hunted in your life.

no it doesn't.
Also note that this guy who I would never go Hunting with 'cause he's a tool also keeps his LIGHTER in his pocket with a live round.

Anyway, I can see the edge of a key hitting the primer if you bump into something...quite hard. It happens.

FYI, my father has had me hunting since I was 14 (24 now), I got my minor's permit at that age and my FAC on my birthday. In fact, I'm gonna scan the certificate for you. I'll see if I have any pics of my and something I killed, smart guy.

Well, I'm smart enough to know a live round in your pocket poses virtually no threat whatsoever. As opposed to you who thinks primers just magically go off when you give'm a mean stare........
But, arguments aside, whatchya hunt? Went antelope hunting out in Wyoming once, good hunting. Used to go down (Now this is dumb i admit....) to some ponds and hunt fish. Catch the carp up in the shallows, break out the SKS and just unload. Good fun, 7.62 can get a solid foot to foot and a half penetration into water, so in the shallows its just a license to kill when you find a school of them :D

Edit: it took a while to upload and type that and you posted again in the meantime with a changed attitude so take this post as not having read the above. The response to your question is below about what I hunt.

Normally I wouldn't do this but your insinuation (edit: not insinuation, direct statement) that I know nothing on the topic really pissed me off especially given your demonstrated poor knowledge of safe ammunition handling. The thing that digs me about SOME Americans is that because they don't HAVE to go through any kind of regulated training, some gun handlers who THINK they know what they're doing, really don't.
Anyway, here's:
MY CFSCT
FAC Course
Migratory Bird
Minor Perm
Licence Card
Licence card back (Note licences on it)
Safety Course Report Page 1
Safety Course Report Page 2
Small Game

Notice the deer licence (which I filled) on the back of the outdoors card.
But maybe you're right. Possibly with all of my exensive training, certification, and good grades in course as well as years of hunting experience, I probably have NO IDEA about proper gun/ammunition handling.
Go put your ammo in your pocket with your lighter and fire it.

Anybody here ever take a primer a beat it with a hammer? Makes the hammer come back at you alittle. Also did it to a .22 with the lead and powder removed, not much happened there. I also stuck a 12 guage shell in the ground and shot it with a BB gun. Took a bunch of trys, but I did manage to hit the primer. What got me was the shell didn't fire.

Thats fantastic. Your a textbook genious.
Well lemme see. What do i have.... Heck, i cant even remeber. Took the Hunter Safety training class. Thats abou tit. The rest of my experience comes from real world. So your right. You know a helluva lot more from the book then me.
Theres a difference between "Proper" ammo handling and "Safe" ammo handling. Shells in pockets are safe, if not proper. Just like driving the speed limit is proper, but 5 over is still safe.
You hunt your way, I'll hunt mine. In 12 years of hunting and shooting, I've NEVER seen a shell not go off that wasnt intended. I've NEVER seen a gun unintentionally discharge. I've NEVER seen a bullet richochet and cause unexpected damage. I've NEVER had a gun fialure due to improper handling, or due to a faulty firearm. In fact, the only "mistakes" I've ever seen have been with reloaded shotgun ammo when you either get no powder charge or forget the shot.
But hey, textbooks win every time over real world. Just look at all those brilliant high school grads with their CCNA's and MCSE's. ;)

Please read the edit from my last post in bold.
Also, I too have a great deal of hunting experience.
Half of those scans are from filled migratory bird, small game, and Deer (much bigger than American deer) licences.

I've heard people say things like this to justify any number of unsafe practices. Just because it hasn't caught up with you yet, doesn't mean it won't.

It was more than 10 years ago, but I'm thinking the primer did fire, just not the powder. I could be mistaken though, it's been awhile.

*heh* The majority of my hunting wasnt exactly of the "papered' variety.
What we got here is a fine case of law abiding city folk versus country folk.
Ah well, you do it your way and I'll do it mine.

Fair enough.
edit: I think you asked what I hunt and what gun.
Lots of guns (collect) but my pride and joy is my 256 Newton! Have to load my own ammo for it though and the brass goes for like $40 on ebay :cry;

Erm...well not in terms of its capability to be used by a swat team...
but certainly in terms of collectability, value and number.
Family heirlooms, rarity, wartime guns etc...
Most of those guns aren't allowed in Canada as pictured.

YAY! We agree!! :D

But I'm still right....... :p

No you're not, and see edit in my last post.

Got pics of it? Suprisingly, my pride and joy is a Winchester 22LR. It was the first gun my father ever bought for me. Following up on that is my still in creation gun. I picked up a Turkish Mauser on a good sale for 40 bucks. All I want if the bolt action. Getting a fully custom, fitted and sized stock, then rechambering. Probably going to go 30-06 due to load availability but havent completely decided on that.
Anyways, the Mauser work in progress will be my second pride and joy.

It's real easy, you just throw the bear a cartidge, keys, and lighter and let nature take its course.
Despite the fact that you couldn't take possession of or handle a firearm in Canada, you should try hunting up here sometime.
We have the most unspoiled wilderness in the world.
The hunting varies greatly from coast to coast and our game is generally much bigger, especially deer and bear.
Does America even have Moose?
