Would if give you a boner if the games had some other generic random characters? You went from arguing that the Wii is the same as a gamecube to saying that you hate how Nintendo rehashes Mario sequels. If you just hate Nintendo's characters then say that, get shot down, realize that nobody cares, and play with your overpriced Sony console.

Plumbers kill my family, need money to grow mushrooms, please help.

$250 dollars for technology that could have been had 3 years ago. :Q no thanks, I already own a scientific graphic calculator.

That's exactly what you're doing!

Nope, I provided a direct link to the thing I was referring to.

Yet I am a retard for not blindly believing everything that people on the internet have to say. Thanks for making my day, again.

Yes, you are.

No, I am not.

Read:
http://wii.ign.com/articles/733/733464p1.html

Substantially better specs than a GameCube.

Was that so hard? BTW:

Q: Is Wii more powerful than GameCube?

A: Yes. It is roughly twice as powerful as GameCube. Developers working on Wii games are largely in agreement that the system is more capable from a horsepower standpoint than the original Xbox. However, it does not have the computing power of either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

Isn't saying much. To hell with Moore's Law, eh?

You do realize you just posted a quote that contradicts the point of your entire thread in the first place?

And? Does that make either quote fake? This is a discussion board isn't it? I am not trying to preach to people what IS, only discussing things.

No one is claiming that the Wii is leaps and bounds ahead of the GameCube in terms of processing power. But it isn't the same (or close to the same) either. It has nowhere near the processing power of the Xbox 360 or PS3, but it doesn't really need to either - 480p is a lot less than 1080p.

You're missing the whole point. Nintendo is focusing on gameplay, not graphics.

Look, you're a graphics whore. We get that. But why is it so hard to grasp the fact that some people are excited about the Wii because of the controller and the whole "simple but fun" approach Nintendo is taking and think that $250 is a reasonable price for it?

and thank god for that.

to many games are going graphics over gameplay. its sickening.

edit: wich is why you see so many classic games being re-made or for huge prices on ebay.

I have a ps2 but play mainly older Ps1 games (FF series!) thoug the new lego star wars is pretty fun. easy but fun.

Hey if you haven't realized it yet, it's about the GAMES. If it was all about the technology, then why do people continue to purchase old/classic cars too? If something is fun and worthwhile (ie Cars / Games) What does it matter that the technology running it is old? ITS ABOUT HAVING FUN... and if you have a problem with Nintendo's games, don't play them PLEASE. Quit bashing for the sake of fanboyism. You have ZERO proof that the PS3 will be revolutionary.... theres absolutely NOTHING that has made ANYBODY in the press say that the PS3 is leaps and bounds beyond anything that we have ever PLAYED (I don't care how good the graphics are). You are one of those types that are all about pretty pictures over style or substance.

I sure hope you don't pick your women the same way. So tell me as far as gameplay goes, what does the PS3 bring to the table that any of the consoles before it not do? Remember the PS2? Why don't you argue that the PS2 actually had INFERIOR hardware compared to the XBOX and Gamecube? So why are you in turn bashing the Nintendo hardware now? ITS ABOUT THE GAMES YOU TOOL, and if you don't like them, STFU!

This thread badly needs an M4H-Grade Derailing.

But damnit, I'm not about to google for the URL to that news article about some suburban mom getting all up in arms after catching her 15-year-old daughter ... ahem ... "playing" with her Gamecube controller's vibration function, and then segue into a fake article about her future concern of the Wii's controller, complete with jokes about it being called a "Wii" and being shaped like said object.

But sadly, no can do.

If someone wants to go hunting though, I'll donate my Grasshopper Points (/obscure ATOT reference) to anyone who gets a URL for that story. :D

The hardware is basically a GC. We?ve upgraded our development tools to new versions but, you can still use GC programs as they are. With that in mind, I thought we could remake GC titles for the Wii and modify them to work with the Wii remote so that they?re more fun to play.

Remake after remake after remake after remake, It was cool for the super Nintendo, it got old fast. Why can't they release a software upgrade and a wii controller for the GC?

who cares! the GC rocks anyways...plus Wii will be way cheaper than either Xbox 3shitty or PS3...and it has games for everyone to enjoy!

Probably around 2003ish, when the GameCube was starting to really gain some ... ahem ... market penetration.

But if anyone needs to wake up and smell the coffee, its you. The PS3 is the same brand of fun from 10 years ago. There's nothing really revolutionary about it, just shinier graphics. The Wii is the one thats offering something new, even if it doesn't look as nice. Besides, it's not like sony isn't going to be on their 5th GT, 4th Metal Gear, 13th Final Fantasy, 4th Devil May Cry etc....sony is just as guilty of sequelitis.

How can you say that theres nothing revolutionary about it? When you just mentioned the "fantastic new processor", and BR. The monster hardware will make way for previously untouchable game mechanics and gameplay, but like how they did with the ps2 and ps1. Graphics accounts for a great deal of a games overall experience, processing power and extra huge storage for audio and video content will definately be usefull for developers.

I guess I am not arguing about the hardware so much as I'm arguing about the gameplay aspects of the Wii, sure they will be able to do fun stuff with the wiimote, but its just not enough for me I guess. I want new games, not old ones with a twist.

I think what you fail to understand is there are going to more then just remakes of existing games with a twist. There will be some genuinely unique games for the Wii because of its remote along with games that are updated or sequeled.

Yes, as we know, the Wii does not have an unprecedentedly large library of release titles. Zelda is the only game for it.

Found it...

Looks like this is a repost of the original post...

If you google "Geena Logenberry" (the mother) you'll find a few more hits...

Cliffs is the mom posted a message to a christian message board (seemingly no longer in existence, was hosted on voy.com) saying she caught her daughter playing with herself with a nintendo controller, then claims nintendo is the devil for releasing such a controller.
