Considering this is the first time I have heard of something this extreme happening in Midland, no.

Yeah, we all know those Nebraskan and Idahoan rural teens are wild and crazy mofo's compared with the city kids!
Actually, depending on your interests, there are a lot more constructive things to do in the country than urban environments where kids have no yards, no [safe] parks, public pools are wall to wall people, no place to ride motorcycles/ATVs, no place to ride horses, no places to hang-out without trespassing and having the cops telling you to move along, no place to party way out in the woods where you don't bother anyone and nobody bothers you.
We didn't have to find a 'park' or 'field' to play football or baseball or whatever, a friend of mine lived on five acres. Several of them did.
But Midland isn't exactly rural. Its one of the leading industrial centers in the US, having in 1990 more Ph.D.'s per capita than any other US city and has since the 1960s.
Stuff like this happens in Midland from time to time. There are quite a few homicides and other crimes there. Only certain parts of it are really quiet.

for what it's worth, i hear there is a huge drug problem in alaska.
If they murdered the animal then they should all go to jail for life. No ifs, ands or buts about it. They murdered something which has the same right as human beings.

I don't believe that animals (Besides humans) are equivalent to that of a human being when judged for a crime such as murder; however, they should probably get some jail time.
That steak and pork chops and chicken you eat is an animal too, no? Doesn't it have the same rights? Unless you're a vegetarian you have no right to say that. I think animal abusers are a-holes but they shouldn't go to jail for life - humans don't even go to jail for life for killing others. Hell, I could go kill my neighbor RIGHT NOW and get off with 5 years in jail.
It makes me sick that kids have so LITTLE respect for someone else's property.

Either the kids do all their punishment and restitution stuff, or the victims get to trash the offenders' homes.
And not just up to their $6600 dollar per kid amount.
A *FULL* $72K per offender.
Especially because of their weasel lawyers, trying to work an angle where they *all* get off from having to pay.
See how they fvckin like it!
