Well, that car and driver review sold me. Now to find a way to sell my soul for one.

The looks are certainly growing on me. Wasn't impressed at first, but now I kind of like it. The money you pay for what you get is amazing. Maybe in 10 years i'll find a used one in good shape... D:

What do you think the cost of it will be in 10 years?

Still curious what they're going to do for the z06, I would have thought that we would have seen a leak by now.

We all know Z06 will kick some major ass.....no doubt about it.

Thanks for posting this OP. What an amazing car. Since C5, Chevy has really done some amazing things with the vette that really puts many other companies to shame.

Simply amazing what you get for your money. It's really hard to look past it as well....

I'm all for competition etc but I could never justify getting another sports car when you look at the price/performance etc

Other rivals don't even exist in my mind...

What do you think the cost of it will be in 10 years?

What C5s/C6s were 10 years later.

That is what I'm waiting for. I went with the non-Z06 version last time around and regretted it. This time it will be Z06 or bust.

It will be no different than your average car. C5s and C6s were dirt cheap on insurance.

;)

My wifes insurance dropped when she went from a Toyota to her old C5.

Most Corvette owners are not kids and they take care of their car. So insurance is not as bad as many other cars.

i believe this one had the z51 package which has some performance oriented features. Also this vette had interior upgrades

Correct

And DIRT cheap compare to your average Porsche, MB, BMW, Audi and other cars that are on par in performance etc.

I guess the outside tailpipes are the primary exhaust ports with the inside ones opening during performance runs?

Correct

My friends C6 Z06 had it, but I'm not sure if it was stock or he had it put in (I believe it was put in and many C6 guys did it).

Since he modded the CRAP out of the thing (Cams, Supercharger, exhaust etc).....I'm assuming Modded.

Nice to see it stock!

I believe the C6 Z06 models came with the baffled exhaust stock, but you can buy an aftermarket kit to control it yourself.

As for the C7, it isn't stock, it is a $2k option.

455 hp at 5900 rpm and 460 lb-ft at 4700 rpm for the base engine; 460 hp/465 lb-ft (at the same revs) with the $1195 Dual-Mode Performance Exhaust. This system (RPO NPP) more or less bypasses the rear mufflers with a pair of exhaust butterflies.

Sounds like the tech is really good. Wonder how close it comes to things like the R8 for the price? Seems legit.
