And again, tell me you're not a GM apologist.

You spend all your time in the interior of a car. For almost $70k I don't think it's too much to ask for a decent interior. :colbert:

So will you be sending a letter to Ferrari, Lambo, Rolls/Bentley....amongst few others.

Their interiors are NOT exactly "great" either....

C6 interior was fine....

Not sure if serious... 😕😕😕

Those are the gold standards by which everyone else is judged. It doesn't get any better than that.

Agreed. You pay out the nose for the uber vehicles but you also get the finest interiors on the planet. Thinking a $60k vehicle can in any way compare to those is wishful thinking.

I'm a huge C6 fan but GM did need to update the interior and I think they did a fantastic job with the C7, especially within the budget constraints they had. As Zivic pointed out it's a tough balance between money going towards interiors and money going towards performance. GM did a great job in that regard.

I'm most surprised that the 17 city/29 HWY epa rating is basically WITHOUT 4 cyl deactivation (since that occurs only in Eco mode)

Very curious if that's true what the HWY mpg would be with 4 cyl deactivation. I would think 32-34 would be achievable.

Off-the-record reports claim it gets mid-upper 30s while cruising in eco on the highway (4cyl, low car weight, very aerodynamic).

Chevy needed to revamp the Corvette. It has been slipping steadily in sales in recent years and they needed it to appeal to a younger audience.

Appeal to a younger audience? I guess you had a $60k+ car when you were 16?

Appealing to a younger audience is what the ghetto Camaro with factory 22s is for..

Vdub, I love ya man, but those cars have interiors to die for. The asses of the richest people in the world shine those seats, so those cabins have to be faultless.

I took a roadtrip in a Bentley Arnage, 800 miles, and I might as well had been sitting on my recliner at home. Only the Arnage's seats were made of the softest calf skin I've ever felt, were more adjustable, and had heating, cooling, and 6-zone variable massage. Frankly, I felt better when we arrived than I did before we left. :hmm:

Don't be ridiculous... :whiste:

Does anyone here actually read articles written about cars? It's not just me saying this stuff.

This is an article in Autoweek on the new Corvette.

And in one of the biggest breaks from Corvette history, there are not four round taillights. Rather, the Stingray's taillights are a hexagonal shape (not Camaro square as some had predicted) and use indirect LED lighting for a futuristic look. The taillight housings also incorporate exhausts for the rear cooling ducts.
That change was deliberate, program manager Harlan Charles says. He explains the Corvette needs to attract a new generation, one that has grown up playing video games and going to events like road rallies.

I agree, but I think GM could have done a lot better with the C6. They sell 10 times the number of Vettes than Dodge sells Vipers. That buying power could have done something about the interior on the last gen Corvette a long time ago.

Corvette doesn't need to compare with a Ferrari on interior quality but they could surely do better than they did with the C6. Proof is in the C7. I like what they've done with this new Vette.

What an awesome car... I'm still not 100% on the back end styling but the car is so good I would easily buy one anyways.. The drive is even better than the looks.

The C6 was fantastic when it debut in 2004/2005.

Agree. I still think C6 looks better than C7 at this point. C7 interior might be improved but it still doesn't look that great. But I never bought a car for pretty interior. I judge every car on its engine. And Corvette has a great one.

I said the same thing about the c5 vs c6 when the c6 came out... today it is no comparison, c6 all the way (loved my c6z06 in every way shape and form... inside out)

I figure the same for the c7... I hate it now, but it will grow on me

Rear end is still horrible. I just don't see how that made it through the design process. Rest of the car looks awesome but the rear is bad.

Reserve judgement until you see it in person. I've seen it and it looks great. This car is a huge win for GM. Mark my words.

I'd rather have the ugly tails, then an ugly interior.

True. I'd take that vette interior over the Pagani Huayra interior. Looks like it was designed by a blind schizophrenic on acid.

The only saving grace is that he included some sort of mechanism in the drivers seat to punch you in the gonads for choosing that horrendous interior. It looks like someone ate a Corvette interior, then projectile vomited it into the Pagani.

The Zonda interior hasn't been spared the same treatment by this madman. Here we can see the passenger seat assuring that both driver and passenger are both in for the Pagani torture treatment to both the eyes and gonads by this hideous and cruel mistress of an interior which relishes in punishing your gonads with some sort of medieval meatsack punching device.

What that shows us is that you can spend tons on a interior and still end up with crap.
