And I'm sure that when their library fails them, they'll blame the liberals, because if the liberals hadn't insisted on allowing access to Forbidden Knowledge, they wouldn't have had to do this.

Yep, “look what you made me do” is their go to fallacy argument

I figured their argument was burn the witches.

See, you are still providing an inkling of civility to current events. When instead, they would best be described as chaos, murder, and mayhem. Well, maybe it has not yet been fully realized. But we will get there. Human nature provides no alternative. We will divide into tribes, and then tribal warfare. It has always been. The Union is not just ill, it is already gone.

They will "burn" libraries to spite you, they will do far worse.

Yes, they can and likely will. But they will never take responsibility for it, as victim blaming is a core psychological trait

No, I don't consider them to be the enemy, at least not in the way you do.

You remind me of some people in my family where you're so consumed by hatred and grievance you've lost the plot. I would suggest taking some time away from politics as it's clearly driving you nuts.

You just admitted the Republicans will only get worse and will continue to double down on their terribleness, and they are pretty freaking bad right now, and yet I am the one who is being unreasonable. Do you feel in history that an intellectual part of society has missed the warning signs too much about a crazy nationalist racist political movement and shit went down and a terrible regime took over? Can you think of any of those examples? If so, do you think today's America is immune to that? Do you still think Ron DeSantis would respect democracy if he obtained presidential power?

You can make statements trying to make me seem nutty, but can you start to answer some basic questions?

I am disappointed but not surprised that you did not take my advice, haha.

I'm constantly disappointed you avoid answering very simple questions. It's just evasive at this point. Clearly you are avoiding some very reasonable and simple questions. If you can't answer reasonable questions, you are not here to debate, you are just here to feel smarter and tell people they are unreasonable, if you can't answer simple questions.

As others have told you I did answer them, you just didn't like my answers. You're right though, I'm not here to debate you because you're not a rational person.

Seriously, I know family members just like you - they're nuts. You are also nuts.

Nutty parents claiming kids have access to porn in their libraries. One of the books a federal judge ordered returned...

They Called Themselves the K.K.K.: The Birth of an American Terrorist Group" by Susan Campbell Bartoletti

When the local dating pool is mostly comprised of people dressing up as ghosts, the potential for confusion is somewhat higher than in most other places, I would think.

You have avoided countless simple basic questions. And that has been pointed out. I may be an emotional guy but I have a lot of knowledge and facts behind me as well. If you would answer some simple questions, it might make you look stupid, so you don't.

I think what is more nuts is that you evade questions and keep stating you answered them.

Now that is a symptom of being nuts, as you are clearly detached from reality.

Republican thought process...

"If we can't ban the books we really don't like, how about we just ban all the fucking books, never read one anyway."

btw Pohemi posted to me to lay off you and settle down, but he still admitted you would not directly answer me.

I always forget when I'm speaking with you I'm talking to a guy that thinks if someone recognizes a clear and present danger/oncoming threat, they MUST do a pre-emptive strike otherwise it doesn't make sense. And you repeatedly argued for that.

That's pretty close to brandonbull level of logic. Of course you are not as dumb as that guy, but you clearly do not exist in reality all the time. When you want to answer my simple few questions from this thread, FOR THE FIRST TIME, please do. I won't hold my breath. Trump will be in prison for hush money payments before you can honestly answer some simple questions.

This should backfire like that stunt in Tennessee, but I doubt enough people are paying attention in this state.

Keeping their populace ignorant is the only way to keep them voting GOP. Reading books might turn them into liberals, and/or make them gay.

In the 1950's we had the Joseph McCarthy hearings.
ARE YOU NOT OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A COMMUNIST?

Today we have,
ARE YOU NOW OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A READER OF BOOKS?

"Weapons not food, not homes, not shoes
Not need, just feed the war cannibal animal
I walk the corner to the rubble that used to be a library
Line up to the mind cemetery now
What we don't know keeps the contracts alive and movin'
They don't gotta burn the books they just remove 'em
While arms warehouses fill as quick as the cells
Rally 'round the family, pockets full of shells"

My city's school library has draft of their media objection policy and they estimate it will cost $3K for each book that is requested to be banned.
