I don't think I would want to live in New York but it is a great place to visit now. Even the subways have been cleaned up and they work a heck of a lot better than our Washington DC Metro that everyone thinks is so wonderful.

I would love to live in New York City. I'm hoping somehow later in life I would get a job that would allow me to live in NYC. My mom was there alot with college (FIT) and relatives, and she seemed to like it quite a bit too.

its definitely not for everyone, especially if you hate people. thats my thing, i hate people. i hate them touching me in the crowded subway i hate having my space invaded by smelly homeless, i hate having drive on the poorly cared for roads. but....24hour public transportation rules, the food rules, the work rules.... i guess its just novel. after a awhile, the novelty defintely wears off!

Argo,
ive been living in CT all my life and i thought it was gonna be cool to live in the city...i guess i just couldnt handle all of the people! back in hartford, though it almost sucks more than NYC, so im waiting to finish up my MCSE and get a real job in Alaska or somwhere else! i want to live very secluded from people but not too far away from a city. i need good cuisine!

NYC is so fvcking expensive, the people are rude, there is too much noise.....I've been to other places around the country, and Europe and they are more peaceful, cost/standard of living is much better.

But i would rather live in New York......i just couldn't see myself living in those other places. The hustle and bustle is like a RUSH to me everyday....

Thank you very much!!!:D

I don't like Manhattan so much, but some of the other boroughs like Brooklyn and Staten Island got real character. It might be nice to live in one of those.

Any other New Yorker as big a fan as I am of the new trains?

I've only seen them on the east side's 4 5 6 line and a couple on the 2 3.

Old trains is suck.

umm unless you got some major $$$, you won't have any fun here. my rent is ~$1400/month for POS dorm, almost all the clubs charge $30-35 cover, and you'll pay anywhere from $7-9 per drink. parking is a PAIN. try $10-$15 PER HOUR for crowded destinations just for parking. most of the lots around my school want $250-$350 per month just to park my fscking car!!!!! i'm originally from SoCal, and it wasn't NEARLY as bad there.

Starting with you, I assume. You've got that NewYawk street intellect the rest of the country finds so illuminating and charming.
