Yeah that's a must during the initial walk through with the landlord. In fact, when you are going around checking off what's wrong with the place you need to specify which places in the apt are bad to fap in. I think there's a special field on the sheet that should be labeled appropriately. If I had my own place I'd have a hamper next to my front door and I'd spend the whole time naked. The lonely part can get to you. I've had roommates everytime I've been on my own. I recently moved out to the city (45 minutes from home), by myself, and I admit, I don't know anybody out here and its not very easy to get people to drive 45 minutes, fight city traffic and look for parking spots, just to hang out for an hour or too.

I've been bringing girls by every now and then, but even still none are the kind I want to hang out with constantly.

I started dating my wife during step 2. Step 4 was with my soon-to-be wife, her sister and her soon-to-be husband.

I never had a chance.

I did have a few occasions to be in our place alone when my wife traveled for work (before we had kids). I liked for a short time.

Same thing for when I have to live in a hotel for a week or so for work. Nice for a while, but then I turn into HermitMan and start talking to myself (or the TV).

I like it, but when the girlfriend is out of town it can get a bit lonely.

I am in a corporate housing thing, so I'm not paying rent or utilities, so the expense is a non-issue. They even pay my cable / internet and filled the place with good furniture / kitchenware (well, the kitchenware kinda sucks but I feel bad complaining about it). When I leave I will have been in this situation for 15 months.

All in all, not a bad deal.
