Who lives by themselves in an apartment? Thinking about doing that versus roomates. Pros and cons? How do you like it?

I do- I've been in a dorm room w/ a roommate, apt w/ a roommate, and a house w/ multiple roommates. I will never go back to any of them. Once you have your "own" place, it's hard to imagine sharing everything again

*edit*
And what NS1 said =)

I did for a couple years before moving into my house. I like the privacy.

edit:
...the cons are the obvious "requires more money to do".

I have lived in my own apartment since I stopped living with my parents a few years ago.

I will only share my apartment with a future spouse/spouse to be

If you can afford it, it's nice, but it does get boring unless you have a lot of friends.

I live alone in a small studio in NW DC.

It's my man cave. My escape from the world. Just the way I want it. Otherwise, I have plenty of people to hang out with.

I live alone in my 'rents basement it is actually a suite since I have an open area, bathroom, and kitchenette.

Pros:
Playing WOW 24/7 without bothering roomies or parents.
Neffing and watching porn without bothering roomies or freaking out parents.
Don't have to worry about glare on my 60" Plasma.

Cons:
None that I can think of.

I only had to clean the place like once a month and it stayed spotless, now with my wife it seems like we clean every day.

Even if I didn't live in the basement, what do you think the chances of me actually getting laid are?

I would imagine that it's awesome. I plan to do it as soon as I can once I graduate. I'm going to live at home until I can pay off my college loans (about $35K) and then I'm going to use the money I have saved up to get my own place.

Cons:

-expensive
-can be lonely
-potentially more house-work to do
-what if you get a pretzel stuck in your throat at night and walls are too thick for your neighbors to hear your panicked muffled sounds and then your corpse ends up staying there for weeks until someone finally notices the smell?

Pro's:

-you only have to clean up after yourself
-walk around naked, have sex whenever and wherever
-you don't have to consult with anyone when you want to buy furniture or move everything around or decide to turn the bathtub into a bed
-no need to worry about your roommate inviting random people over who end up staying for weeks and eating you out of house and home

Yeah that's a must during the initial walk through with the landlord. In fact, when you are going around checking off what's wrong with the place you need to specify which places in the apt are bad to fap in. I think there's a special field on the sheet that should be labeled appropriately. If I had my own place I'd have a hamper next to my front door and I'd spend the whole time naked. My cock would be out 100% of the time.

Living alone for a few years turned me creepy and OCD. If I met myself in that condition, I wouldve dropkicked myself in the head.

Wha? 60" Plasma TV and you live with your parents?

Sounds sad to me.

I found a place with pretty low rent that I'm happy with. It can get lonely but I got a cat who keeps me company (even though she's a whiny bitch). Also it encourages you to spend more time out and with your friends, which in turn means that you spend less time in your apartment making a mess.

It's nice not having to ride your roommates about the pile of dishes that have been in the sink for weeks and have them claim that they are not theirs.
