anybody have experience w/ 1 or both of these states?

Texas meaning: austin, dallas,
Missouri meaning St louis.

I'm looking for: nice weather, low crime rate, friendly people, more job opportunities, more choice of universities, low cost of living, overall living condition.

Not sure about Texas, but that rules out all of the St. Louis area.

I have driven through both, and I would pick Texas over Missouri, but having only lived in Ohio and New Mexico, I can't comment on living in either one you mentioned.

Don't come to Texas, we hate blacks and we'll shoot you if you come and ring our doorbell to ask for a cup of sugar /Sarcasm

Austin is quite often ranked as the number one city to live in. Relative low cost of living - oddly enough it's about the highest in Texas but compared to similar cities across the country it is much more affordable.

I used to live in the DFW area (Arlington) and really liked it. Texas is a good place to live - very cheap compared to most of the country - but I am sure a bunch of knuckleheads here on ATOT will say some crazy ignorant close-minded things to trash the state.

Quite an amazing analysis you have there.

Both states suck. I live in Missouri.

Lived in Texas and currently living in Missouri. I prefer Texas. The cost of living is lower here, but I made way more money than I'm saving. It is nice to get away from the heat though.

I lived in STL for 7 years and wouldn't go back. Some of MO is alright though. Texas is huge and you can find just about anything you'd want. The Austin/San Antonio area is growing like crazy yet in most areas the cost of living is still reasonable.
