Live Earth

So is anyone else watching the Live Earth concerts?

Sydney is going on right now and tokyo is about to begin...
Pretty decent lineup for most of them.

I almost flew to DC to go see Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood head up the DC concert, but being last minute, flights were very expensive.

sirius is suppose to be broadcasting the concert from each location on differenet channels from what i heard. I went to live 8 in philly and that was a good time but im not really into this whole green earth thing.

Earth First!
Well log the other planets later.

Is this concert for green Earth or Africa help????

Do concerts like these really do anything to help causes? I bet the concerts use more electricity, resources, than an African country in a day.

Bill Gates can give Africa $50 billion to Darfur and it probably still won't solve its problems!

Nope, they are completely pointless. In fact, they probably do more harm than good.

Apparently they will all use on-site power generation which they intend to be as clean as possible.

Not that it makes much difference - anyone watching such a concert is already aware of the issues at hand, it's just preaching to the converted.

Not necessarily. The prime time show tonight will probably have viewers who might know of the crisis but not exactly what can be do to solve it.

And what they are going to try and do to make it not "pointless" is try to get everyone who watches to work towards becoming carbon neutral. I'm not saying it will definitely do a lot of good, but I don't think it's pointless.

bringing awareness to people and spreading humane ideals is a positive thing.

I count less than 10 acts on there I would actually pay to see.

I suppose I could jump in my prius and drive 100mph while taking pills and smoking dope to get to the concert on time.

I caught the quick Garth Brooks segment and that was it.

I appreciate the fact that they are trying to do something to better the world, but I don't like Al Gore at all and I don't want any part of anything he is involved in.

The hypocrisy of these shows is utterly astounding.

Lemmings like you and I are supposed to reduce and conserve our energy consumption and our use of non-renewable resources. The celebrities and politicians behind these shows get to continue flying in their private fossil-fuel burning jets, stay in presidential suites at hotels that consume enough energy to power a small neighborhood, yet can call it even because they performed for a few hours at a rock concert which will change no minds present (those that are there are just their for the music, or they are already "aware" of the issue) and yield no lasting change.

watching it on UHD. much better coverage than live8

i like how they edited it, putting a somewhat discovery channel like view on things

There was a hot british chic on early with golden tighs and a nice ass that showed through. Any pics and I will give you much thanks.
