Yesterday, the did this interview with one of the parent's of the Hawaii shortstop. The dad had to quit his job (his boss wouldn't let him leave to watch his son play baseball), they took out a $12k loan to have the family watch the son and now he goes back to Hawaii jobless.

I wonder how many job offers the guy will get when he returns. Especially now that Hawaii won it.

I suppose just like in MLB, you don't have to time it perfectly to get the out.

LOL at the "Ray Lewis" pitcher for Hawaii overpowering fools with heat in the of the 7th inning.

That was an awesome game. Boy was that Samoan pitcher bringing in some heat. I live in San Diego now but grew up in Hawaii. I was the only guy rooting for Hawaii at my work. I used to play little league in Hawaii and the head coach for Hawaii used to be my coach and I used to play with his son (which is also the 1st baseman's older brother).

But yeah it was an exciting watching the game. I was reliving my childhood dream haha. I used to be a catcher and I was one of those hitters that either hit home runs or strikeout. But when we played Ewa Beach teams, it was a sure loss for us (at 3rd grade those boys were throwin screwballs at us!).

I don't care about the naysayers, for me this was the most exciting and fun sporting event I've seen in YEARS!

The core sportsmanship that's sometimes witnessed is very touching, and even though I was rooting for Hawaii, I felt sad that either team had to lose. I would've especially hated it if Hawaii had lost by a run, considering the freebie that was given the defending champs earlier in the game, though I don't blame the kids a bit for that.

Better than the Red Sox vs. Yanks??? I don't think so.
