I'm just glad there is a game coming out that me and my wife will play together (hopefully). Looks like it will be fun. I preordered mine from gamestop and i have the code for Kratos so if someone wants to trade me after we activate it for a different code i will(supposedly we can use the code 5 times)

Full Text/Explanation from Sony's Threespeech Blog.

SCEE has supplied us with the official statement on the situation regarding LittleBigPlanet?

During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur?an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.

We will confirm the new launch date shortly.

We?ll keep you updated with further information as soon as we get it.

UPDATE

We?ve just been informed by SCEE that the delay to release is effective worldwide.

recockulous

The word 'retarded" just keeps going through my head over and over and over and over.

I'm so annoyed by this.

Re: The delay due to religion shit. I swear, it's created to get people hate arabs.

I'm such a loot whore. I pre-ordered the game from 3 places to get 3 different bonus goodies. I ended up ordering it for real at amazon.com so I can get the $10 GC.

Is there supposed to be a demo of this?

Many many many beta keys were given out by numerous sources for people to d/l the beta from PSN. Emphasis on many.

Well this freakin sucks! By the way, for those who venture into Neogaf there is a Little Big Planet thread ( here ) and someone there posted the original letter to Sony from the offended person including his PSN id. Hopefully people won't do anything stupid to the dude.

The verses from the Qur'an in question from one of the tunes in the game:

1- In the 18th second: "?? ??? ????? ?????" ("kollo nafsin tha'iqatol mawt", literally: 'Every soul shall have the taste of death').

2- Almost immediately after, in the 27th second: "?? ?? ????? ???" ("kollo man alaiha fan", literally: 'All that is on earth will perish').

I don't get why the hell they didn't just make a game day patch, instead of recalling all the copies so they can PRINT A FUCKING BILLION MORE. Seriously, with a change as small as this, a patch would have worked much better. Now they have to edit it, print a shitload of more disc, and ship them out. THIS WILL TAKE A FUCKING MONTH

FUCK YOU MEDIA MOLECULE

Those sound like wholesome quotes that should be included in the game!

Why would you be offended by quotes from the Qur'an? They quote the bible all the time. Wouldn't you be happy that they are spreading your holy book?

I don't undertsand why it's offensive? It is just quoting the scripture, not saying anything bad about it, at least from what I can tell.

Seems very silly.

They don't want people drawing their prophet and they don't want anyone to put the words of their book to music.

Right now I'm just hoping Amazon.com didn't get the memo and send out my copy overnight on Monday. If that doesn't happen, I'm gonna drive over to gamestop and see if they have it.

Yeah, I mean obviously some people wouldn't update it (lots of people with no broadband), but it's the thought that counts, right?

LBP Patched already for all those Infidel Limited Editions that managed to make it out before the recall. This patch updates costumes, fixes some online stuff. It does not remove the potentially offending song with the Qur'anic verses...you know, the song created by a devout Muslim....

9.5 for a really good-looking side scroller. I'm baffled. Not saying its bad or not as I havent played it, but looking at the ingame video of it I think I would get bored as hell real soon. Maybe there is more than "Super Mario" gameplay. I havent followed this game so I dont know. But IGN keeps giving these highly hyped games real high scores. 10 for GTA4? more like 7.5, SR2, which I like much better than GTA4 gets 8.2.

They just released a 2nd patch to fix the song in the Infidel Limited Edition. Now people can recreate 9/11, make 72 virgins, and jihad Danish Embassies.
