Hello Folks,
There appears to be some confusion with the Lite On DVD Recorder capabilities that Wal-Mart is advertising in this week's flyer.
"Easygoing" initial posting states that the Lite On SKU LDW401SWIWM recorder that Wal-Mart currently advertising in this weeks flyer is a dual format recorder. This incorrect. The SKU LDW401S capabilities are LDW-401S (4X(+R) 4X(+RW) & 40/24/40/12) (DVD+R/RW). This is not a dual format recorder.
The following is a quick synopsis of Lite On DVD Recorders capabilities.
LDW-401S (4X(+R) 4X(+RW) & 40/24/40/12) (DVD+R/RW)
LDW-411S (4X(+R) 4X(+RW) & 4X(-R) 2X(-RW) & 40/24/40/12) (DVD±R/RW)
LDW-451S (4X(+R) 4X(+RW) & 4X(-R) 2X(-RW) & 40/24/40/12) (DVD±R/RW)
LDW-811S (8X(+R) 4X(+RW) & 4X(-R) 2X(-RW) & 40/24/40/12) (DVD±R/RW)
LDW-851S (8X(+R) 4X(+RW) & 4X(-R) 2X(-RW) & 40/24/40/12) (DVD±R/RW)
I just didn't want forum members to be unaware of the capabilities of Lite On DVD Recorder that Wal-Mart is advertising in this week's flyer.
Regards,

The model number is incorrect in the ad, but the picture is correct.
If you are looking for the files needed to upgrade the drive to an 8 speed DVD+R, DO NOT USE any of the stuff that has to do with the 411 to 811 conversion. The 451 to 851 is a much simpler, less dangerous(to your drive) process.
