Lite-On makes wonderful CD burners, CD-rom drives, DVD rom drives and wonderful CD/DVD combo drives, but they make Horrible and I mean really bad DVD burners, everyone I know who's had one has had issues or been dissapointed, so I would stay far far away from their DVD burners but everything else they make seems to be fairly good.

Seems so odd though,

I agree 100% with the CD-ROM / CD-RW drives.. But they either cut WAY to many corners, or just had a horrible, horrible batch..

I am returning this to Newegg..

Read speeds are pathetic..

I am going to contact Newegg, i refuse to play $11 bucs to restock, and then ship it back..

 for Lite on..,

Getting the 16x NEC.

So to recap..

Paid to ship it here originally..

Paid to RMA it back..

Now pay $11 to restock a POS..

Then pay to SHIP back the POS

The pay shipping to receive the new drive.. ???

NO WAY.

I am calling tomorrow.

HAHAHA... over (1) hour to copy 4.7GB of Mp3

Started at 10:25 and it errored out at 11:10...

What a jokelite.JPG

Maybe you should have read some reviews before buying it instead of trying to stick Newegg with the expense caused by your lack of research.

Looking at your Pic I wonder if you were using the built in Win XP burning burning software, that will take ages to complete:confused:

Yes that the exact same way I feel & discovered when I got my first lite-on DVD-RW drive, cdrw drives are excellent but DVd burners are buggy at best, Only Pioneer for me.

Are you kidding me?

I sent it to them 2nd day air the first time, and I will pay to ship it back again.. But pay a restocking fee..

Ya right..

bjc112, I will have to agree with Snatchface on this one. There have been numerous posts on this very forum about people having problems with the drive you purchase. I know this because I read this forum just about every day to avoid problems like you encountered. There is no need to get hostile because another member points out the obvious. I know not to buy a Lite-on DVD player at lease a month ago when reading about everyone's negative posts about the drive. Where were you? As far as Lite-on being higher regarded...yes for their CD burners, not their DVD burners. In fact, I have a Lite-on CD burner and stand by it 100 percent.
