Update on my order.
I ordered it on 4/17/02 using the .05 cent screw option. I just got an email today saying it would ship on 4/24/02. wt
I was not able to get free overnight shipping, just free regular shipping
I ordered my drive on the 18th and received the generic order acknowledgement, but still have not recieved the order confirmation with the order numbers and such. Has anyone else experienced this?
i never got my confirmation either. had to call in to dell to double check that it did went through. you can check your order status online by logging in with your email and pw. i couldn't check it via the order status link at the top because it asked for my order #, which i don't have since i got no email confirmation.

Me too! I am SOOO glad I waited. This drive kicks booty! Super fast!
Use your Blue card too. This will be one of my last PMs. Time to get a regular Amex and pay for the benefit. I probably get close to $400 back a year. $50 is worth it.
Also, keep your eyes open. This drive supposedly has a firmware coming soon that will make it P-CAV so it will be THE fastest burner on the market! VIVA LITEON!

And Mount Rainier as I mentioned earlier. Anyway, the extra five seconds over 40x Z-CLV drives isn't the kicker; it's the fact that P-CAV doesn't need to link zones together like Z-CLV.
I got mine on the $88 deal shipped next day air, this is one AWESOME burner! I was ripping at 30- 60.8x, I am amazed! I also was able to burn a .iso at 40x( for the full disc) and it was 4x media, lol, go grab one!!!
Thanks guys, I bought another one, I figured it did make sense to have 2 of them to extract from and burn to and for $80, it's like a 2nd CD drive, this forum always makes me spend more money

Yup, I ordered mine on Friday as soon as I saw this post and received the order/confirmation numbers a few hours later. It seems it should be coming to the house on Monday. Thanks for the Deal!!

I just called Dell's Sales Dept. I had received the standard order acknowledgement on Friday morning, but no order confirmation.
I was just told that the order is in the processing queue and that I will receive an email order confirmation as soon as it it processed.
There was a situation several months ago on Altec Lansing ADA880 Speakers, where Dell refused to honor several hundred orders. I was just looking at the email Dell sent me on 12/21/01 saying those speakers were out of stock and my order would not be filled. Those speakers had been ordered on 12/12/01 and I had received an acknowledgement and a confirmation with a shipping date within 9 minutes of one another. I hope Dell isn't going to wait nine days and send a similiar email again.

Nope Dell sucks IMO, but did order the burner Friday night. Im gonna call them and check the status here in a minute. It doesnt bring anything up for me when I login so im wondering if its even there!
Well, I ordered on the 19th and have yet to receive a confirmaiton email with order and customer numbers as well. Their phone system is sorry -- no customer no. = no way to speak with a rep. I'm just placed in an endless loop requesting my customer no. and my phone no. isn't recognized. I just emailed them, so we'll see what happens. The Lite-On DVD drive that I ordered hours after has supposedly shipped and will be here before or on the 24th.
