I rarely turn on my AC, the fans are good enough for me. I'll turn on the AC if I have friends over, but most of my friends live about 30 mins from me, so I'm always driving up there to see them. Maybe I should include my gas (driving) bill to offset the low electricity bill.

I need to invent a program to mine data from threads like these.

I wonder how much I could find out about individual forum members by compiling their posts data...

dollar amount is meaningless since we all pay different rates.

~1000 sqft, 2 people + 1 dog, 190 kWh, which runs about $50-$70/mo

We also pay for 100% local renewable energy through a supplier option sponsored by our city.

1) 1370
2) $100 (used to be 70 for a couple years... dunno what happened, and no it's not because of summer AC)
3) 2 people
4) LI|NY
5) 57 years old now.

Just to prove sqft hardly matters, I made the above post in ''07 for our old house.

Our current house is 2700sf, 4 people. Cost still avg's $100/month. The reason is we are all only on 1 floor at a time and don't ever have the other floor's AC or heat on at the same time. Maybe when the kids get older and hide in their rooms 24/7. In practical usage where you have zones, utilities should be for 1 floor at a time regardless of how many floors you have unless you guys are just wasteful.

1100sqf, My hydro bill was around $140 but last one was $280. My equal billing must have been increased. Did use quite a bit this summer though... I was averaging like 1000kwh per month. I turned off the mining rig and also use the AC less now that summer is mostly over so hoping to bring my usage down. I don't like the heat so I tend to keep the A/C at like 20 when I'm home. I live alone but I work shift work, so I spend a decent amount of time at home.

1.) Sq. feet: 730 sq ft apartment

2.) I'll just average the 2019 months that I do have history for: $73 + $85 + $30 + $31 + $33 + $37 + $43 + $30 + $38 / 9 = $44 average. It was noticeably less last year as it must've not been as hot and so the AC wasn't used as much.

3.) Just me.

4.) SE Michigan represent

It matters.
So does the insulation and the eficiency of your HVAC which is 50-60% of the electricity bill in the south.
New homes are built tighter than older ones.

Home is ~4500 sqft - slightly less. 4 Bedroom, 3.5 bath. Technically it's way more than that though, we also have a study (my office), sun room, and a media room. The media room would normally be another bedroom, when the home was built you're given the choice.

Monthly Utility costs - Totally depends. Electric bill is roughly 10.0c per kw/h. As low as $50 - $100 /month during the winter (Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb). During the crux of summer though (June/July/August) the bill will be somewhere between $250 - $330 per month. This has recently gotten to the higher amounts because I now work from home and my kid and mother-in-law are at home all-day every day as well.

Total of 3 living here currently with the first kiddo. Second kiddo is on the way, so soon to be 4.

Yes, to my knowledge most of Texas does.

As far as gas prices, most months in the hot months it's around 25$. In the winter it gets up to around 40, maybe 50 max. We tend to not run the heater much because we fucking love the cold.

Being Texas it can't get that cold.
