my apologies. SOme of the software i installed was given to me for free but is legit.

Shareware
Software downloaded from the internet, or transfered via CD/Floppy disk, that is one or more of the following.

a.) Works for a limited time, then requires payment
b.) Works for a limited time, then becomes Nagware
c.) Works forever, but has limited features from the full-blown version
d.) Works forever, but requests nicely that if you really do like it, it would be Politically Correct for you to purchase it

I downloaded this Shareware App off the 'Net, you can't export to format XYZ, but otherwise it is great

Helpful Linkage

Also, This has been done before, but, it's always nice to see if anything new out there is worth checking out.

On my pc: Maxthon, IESpell, DQSD (Dave's Toolbar), MultiDesk, Irfanview, SmartFTP, Winamp, Grabit, Acrobat (although it kills me to do so), and the obvious like AdAware, SpyBot, CCleaner.

Damn, DQSD looks pretty good!

I mostly use it for the clock (has day/mo/time) displayed . You can right click the text field and it brings up the calendar view. Quite handy, but there's more, it also works as a calculator. Woohoo, you say, but, it's right htere in the taskbar, very handy!.

"The deskbar has a built-in Javascript calculator that lets you evaluate ordinary Javascript expressions using an "=" sign, e.g., "9*(3+22.4)=" will give you "228.6". If you type in something that looks like a math expression without the equals sign, the calculator will also try to evaluate it. The code is executed within Javascript's Math package, which gives you access to various functions and mathematical constants. For example, "cos(pi)+sin(pi/2)" gives you "0"."

Honestly, that's about all I use it for. I probably should take advantage of some of the other features like search, but, I just go to google. Those of you who use the codec packs, which are the best FREE ones that do NOT have adware crap in them? Linkage to the ones you use please. Anything with DIVX, QTIME, and/or RealPlayer alternatives in them would be nice.
