So I'm making 185,000 per year right now. If the most they can charge me for insurance is 9.5% of my income then that means the most I can be legally charged is 17,575 dollars in premiums annually.

You left out:
Tax on wages rises to 2.35% from 1.45%

it opens up the possibility of maybe working for a non-profit or volunteering somewhere for a few years after graduation.

It opens up the opportunity to slack off.

By the way, do I get a rebate for paying for my own insurance since I was 22 and became a big boy? Maybe I should bill Obama

A butthurt rightwing circle jerk! Looks like fun.

Are you all concerned about paying for trillions for 2 endless wars, warrantless wiretapping, torture, the patriot act, or doubling the deficit in 8 years during a good economy?

Or is it only protections for americans concerning healthcare that induces fear and paranoia?

Yes, we should allow companies making 2.5 billion dollars in profit off american blood to raise premiums by 25-39% while dropping the sick from coverage.... the american way! HOW will these companies ever survive regulation with ONLY 2.5 billion in profits!? 2.5 billion AFTER fancy accounting and insane executive pay!

Absolutely I'm concerned. We should be ending both wars ASAP (Iraq should NEVER have started in the first place) and repeal the Patriot Act.

The same companies which Obama is now forcing people to use for insurance purposes. Nice.

So we only freak out over money? Awesome country.

Funny how you were going off about premium increases. You know the CBO says premiums will go up even more under this plan, right?

And you and the rest of your bleeding heart buddies, Obama included, have been sounding off at how evil insurance companies are for over a year now. Solution? Give them more business. Does that not make sense to you?

Thank you. Now I can clearly see Obama was right that this bill will reduce the deficit and result in some damn fine healthcare that even cuba will be jealous of.

I wonder if Canada will see a huge influx of Americans moving there in a few years if this gets ridiculously expensive. Maybe Canada's healthcare wont looks so bad in 5 years :)

They all seem to either ignore this point or give a meek "I don't like it, but..but...it is better than nothing!"

Nice try, but it isn't Obama's fault that we are still stuck with the insurance companies. You can blame the Republicans for voting no against everything, which allowed moron Lieberman to eliminate any form of government insurance.

That wasn't the solution and you know it. being intentionally disingenuous makes you look like an ignorant fool.

The solution was single payer. The republicans and hick state democrats had a freak fest. Then the public option was removed because the republicans wouldn't participate, which gave a handfull of senators power to remove it, specifically lieberman.

Thanks for playing, but you aren't even trying to play with the facts.

if only democrats had some sort of majority...

Obama could have swayed a republican from a blue state like Snow and called it a day. the problem was the conservatives and bought-men of his own party.

Lieberman was just giving cover for others who felt the exact same way behind the scenes... just like the big showdown the other night wasn't even about whether or not the bill was going to pass but which democrats were going to be given a pass to vote no to save their seats.

The democrats didn't have a supermajority. Additionally, you still have "democrats" that fillibustered civil rights as part of the party. Then you have the hick state 'democrats." And of course you have Lieberman, in a state full of insurance interests, backtracking on his claims just a few years ago that medicare should be expanded to include everyone. And you have the Republicans that wanted healthcare to be the end of Obama or his 'waterloo" as they put it and refused to participate in the process in any sort of good faith."

It is like you people weren't here for the last year.

Funny how you guys blame Republicans when in fact, the Blue Dogs (DEMOCRATS) were the ones that caused the real problems.
