I'm talking about movies that are unique in some specific way that when you watched them made you think "wow wtf I never thought one could think this way". They don't have to be your all time favourite movies though obviously they should rank high. Examples of what I mean are things like movies with extremely unique editing, dialogue, time lines, music composition etc etc... Unique ways of using the medium. Amazing synergies between music and plot. etc...
Only one comes to mind without thinking too hard for me and that would be P.T Andersons Magnolia. Specifically there is this one hour section or so in the middle where all hell breaks loose and everything falls apart in the different intersecting narratives. Dialogue is actually fairly limited in this section. The use of music and the way he cuts between each scene as this feeling of desperation builds is masterful.
Requiem for a Dream might be another.
Other examples added from replies bellow that I agree with in one way or another:
There will be blood
Full Metal Jacket
Citizen Kane (Given the period it was made in)
2001 A Space Odyssey
Apocalypse Now
Pulp Fiction.
