Why the end of the day? Why not the start of the day? Man up, brah.
He's not asking about the morning bloody mary or hair of the dog. He's asking about a good relaxing evening drink.

Churchill usually started his morning with some whisky and soda, but in the evening, he was most often drinking brandy , though he often also drank champagne, wine, and whisky in the evening as well.

Bloody Mary's at dawn? How novel. I put a couple of shots of Irish Cream in my mug of coffee every morning for the past +25 years. Nothing says Good morning better--well, maybe morning sex--and in a more consistent manner than this.
