Well, for games, Windoze in certanly better, but there are some titles avalible for linux, too (check out www.lokigames.com). For the Internet, linux is IMHO no. 1 OS. It's far more configurable, secure, stable than Windoze (at least much more stable than W9x), and it's free 🙂
if your going to be playing alot of games (provided there fairly new games) but want more stability than win9x then i suggest you use win2k. i have been using win2k for about 3 weeks now, and i have not had it crash once yet, and games actually run better than they did in win98 on my system.
I have yet to find anything that I would be willing to replace Windows with. Linux is fun, but just not as useful to me as Windows is. I don't mind paying for Windows if that's what it takes to get something accomplished.
I'm sure Linux would be great if I had time to sit down and learn it. If I had over 10yrs experience with Unix based stuff like I do with DOS/Windows, then it would be a different story.
