What are some of Linux advantages over Windows? Especially when you use your computer mostly for games, and the Internet.

Well, for games, Windoze in certanly better, but there are some titles avalible for linux, too (check out www.lokigames.com). For the Internet, linux is IMHO no. 1 OS. It's far more configurable, secure, stable than Windoze (at least much more stable than W9x), and it's free :)

if your going to be playing alot of games (provided there fairly new games) but want more stability than win9x then i suggest you use win2k. i have been using win2k for about 3 weeks now, and i have not had it crash once yet, and games actually run better than they did in win98 on my system.

stability. stability. stability.

But seriously, If you are really into playing games, Windows has the upper hand, without a doubt. Much as I hate to say it, its true. :(

Just set up a dual-boot

I have yet to find anything that I would be willing to replace Windows with. Linux is fun, but just not as useful to me as Windows is. I don't mind paying for Windows if that's what it takes to get something accomplished.

I'm sure Linux would be great if I had time to sit down and learn it. If I had over 10yrs experience with Unix based stuff like I do with DOS/Windows, then it would be a different story.
