Are there not books worth of stories of people who've come from nothing and made 'something' of themselves?
Define "something." Society only has room for so many Andrew Carnegies at once.
And his modern equivalents (like Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates) almost always come from a place of privilege to start with. An Ivy League education and the networking opportunities that provides, a "small loan" from mom and dad, or maybe a trust fund to provide a safety net when you start your business, etc.
