Is it just me or does the system in the world make people feel depressed ? The system is not fair in Life
I do not mean any of these things in a harsh way, but here are the hard facts:
1. Life is not fair, and it's not supposed to be. It's designed to help you grow up. The sooner you accept that, the happier you'll be.
2. No one owes you anything in life. What you
do deserve is an opportunity to work or contribute in a meaningful way. In America, at least, we have that opportunity, and I am very grateful for that, because I have friends from places that do not offer those opportunities. I have a buddy from an Asian country with limited job options & can't understand why we're not all working all the time in the United States. He gets off work & goes straight to Ubering in his spare time...he is overjoyed that he can make as much money as he is willing to work for here in the states. That attitude was a real kick in the pants for me, for how much I complain about my life, having grown up here my whole life.
3. Thoughts create emotion. What that means is this: your attitude controls your happiness. Viktor Frankl wrote a book called "Man's search for meaning", in which he talks about finding meaning & purpose, even in crappy situations. He was an inmate in a Nazi concentration camp, so he has a pretty good background in this:

4. You can choose to be a Victim or you can choose to be a Creator. Compare Viktor's holocaust experience to your situation: you speak English, you have access to the Internet, no one is holding a gun to your head, you're alive in 2018, and humanity as a whole has never before in recorded history had access to so much information & so many resources & technological innovations as we have today, right now. Does that mean that we can't or shouldn't get depressed? Absolutely not, I think everyone goes through periods of depression in their lives. But it goes back to deciding to be a victim & wallow in the awfulness of the world in general, or deciding to be something better.

The world is & will always be both an awful & an amazing place. The majority of humanity are your just average joes - good people - but there will always be (1) people who do bad things, (2) natural disasters that happen, and (3) personal situations like losing a loved one or getting a terminal disease or whatever that make life hard. The way to get over the awful part of the world is to find a purpose in your life that is meaningful to you personally. Some people join Doctors Without Borders or the Peace Corps. Some people donate time to soup kitchens or the Big Brother/Big Sister program. Some people start companies, and others do the best they can at the jobs they have.
It's easy to focus on all the rotten stuff that goes on every minute that this planet spins around, especially because of our 24/7 non-stop Internet feeds, but focusing on that stuff isn't going to make you happy - figuring out how to use your personal talents & skills & aptitudes is what's going to make you happy & create a better world around you. You can't save the entire world, but you can help make your corner of it better through your words & actions.
