job security FTW!
Are we done having wars on anatomic objects for a while?
I assumed that was just her view or is that how all Libertarians think?
Think of it as more Stimulus. It keeps government employees employed. The 'War on Drugs' is a government industry.
Liberals are the opposite of communists, yet somehow you manage to liken them together. Hell you even throw in a reference to Jesus for good measure.
Liberalism is about having a free'r society, and people taking personal responsibility for their actions. This is a concept some people it seems, can't possibly allow into their minds. Ironically the easy way out leads to the least satisfaction in peoples lives but they just don't know it and can't accept it.
.
Are Libertarians for abolishing bankruptcy laws and limited liability? Its government intervention and removes personal responsibility for one's actions.
😀
I had a customer on the phone who was a Libertarian once. I don't even know how we got to politics since its something I avoid like the plague, but she ranted for a good 20 minutes about off the wall ideas and conspiracy theories. She was convinced of a group of people who ran the world (not just the country) from behind the scenes. Of course that group was made up of very well respected people who just happen to have money. But in her mind they were hell bent on taking over the world at the expense of every other person in the world.

Why all the hostility towards libertarians?
They can't help it if there's never been a single libertarian government in recorded history. Their philosophy is so simple and so obvious it must be that most people are simply fucked up or somebody somewhere would have made it work by now. Don't you like people who think the whole world is fucked up?
Which makes you wonder about economics. If people make irrational decisions, how does a collective of irrational decisions arrive at a rational conclusion?Well it is true, people are just simply to fucked up. Nothing is ever a problem of capitalism, communism, socialism, whatever. It's always a fucking people problem.

By that you mean legalize drugs and free abortions? Lol...

You do understand, I hope, that there's a difference between limited gov't and NO gov't, right?

Can't .............stop........................laughing......................

In their most pure, extreme forms, most philosophies of gov't are impractical, libertarianism included. Does anyone really want to live in a pure democracy? Of course not. That being said, I think the U.S. could use a more libertarian approach to certain issues. How's that War on Drugs working out for everyone?
What about nudity? Cussing on TV? Won't someone think of the children!I think libertarians have some good ideas.
Namely drug legalization. I used to be staunchly against it. But then after reading about it, I think less harm would be done to society, and a lot of problems would be fixed, by taking steps toward legalization.
Of course, I think everyone views drug legalization as tantamount to all of us being reduced to crackheads wandering the streets.

That's not true at all. See "War on Drugs".I think libertarians tend to focus more on economic issues. Or at least, that's what I understand of it.

Which is clearly different from Democrats and Republicans. You raise a good point, but even the sainted Dr. Ron Paul that libertarians most often cite as the ideal President often times proposes many truely impractical, impossible and ultimately destructive to the USA policies. As the OP stated, the wtf moments. It's hard for me to envision any sort of "mainstream" libertarian that would not drive this country right into the ground.
