This too is a strawman. Liberals don't want to 'open the flood gates' in the name of political correctness, but in the name of humanitarianism. Because it is a liberal belief that it is our duty to help reduce the suffering of our fellow man if we are able. Something your Jesus commanded his followers to do as well, if I remember correctly.

How exactly do you reconcile that?

Your initial intentions may well have been noble, but they're proven to be disastrous! You let in hundreds, thousands, millions and your own people begin to suffer horribly at the hands of the newcomers.

At what point do you realize your noble intentions don't change the fact that the people you're "helping" are only taking advantage of you and you're playing right into their hands. They know very well how to hold up a crying child, make your hearts go soft and convince you to give them the shirt off your back... and you're so busy feeling smug about your righteousness that you don't (or pretend not to) notice them grin and mutter "Sucker!"

At some point, your soft hearts need to harden and you have to put your foot down and shout, "ENOUGH! We let you people in because you claimed you were from a warzone. Most of you are NOT. If you're going to stay here you need to integrate! Learn the language, get jobs, RESPECT OUR COUNTRY, PEOPLE AND LAWS! If you can't do that, our last act of kindness is a boat ticket back to your home countries."

...or are you taking the Merkel stance, and that your white guilt needs to be assuaged by allowing non-whites to cause the suffering you feel they (but not you, personally) deserve? That would certainly explain the heavy UberLeft support for the BLM terrorists.

We have the same issue in this case. Worse, considering our PM's blind, complete support for islamic groups and vows to fast-track in as many as possible. NOT refugees, just muslims from other countries. Period. Fast-tracked in, and allowed to vote as quickly as possible.

It's bonkers...

Do you really believe that people give up everything but what they can carry on their backs to take a long and grueling journey, mostly on foot, though harsh and hostile lands, with out knowing where they will end up just for the hell of it? The people that are strong enough and willful enough to do so are exactly the people we want. Those are the people that are made of strong stuff.

My Grandmother came to America from the Soviet Union. My grandmother gave up everything, family, friends, and what little possessions she had to come to a country whose language she did not speak, and only had rumors that she would be offered sanctuary if she got here, and almost certain death if they did not. She was smuggled in a crate across the ocean, and spent the next 15 years paying off her debt as an indentured servant (which she didn't know was illegal in the US until my mom was old enough to tell her.) She would have been one of those people you rant against. She never learned much English, and kept mostly the Russian culture she grew up with, yet she loved this country with a fierceness that I've only ever seen matched in other immigrants.

I can only assume that you believe that these people are trying to take advantage of us because that is what you would do. The reality is most of these people are eternally grateful for our help. Most of these people love our nation and want to be a part of it. It is only when people like you show them so much hate that they become bitter.

Since you believe they're not doing anything wrong, it would therefore be "mean" to not aid them.
However, I have seen the wrongdoing on video and in person. I also see that the muslims not guilty of wrongdoing, themselves, will most definitely aid / hide the ones that do. Most of them most definitely do harbour an "us vs them" mentality and will team up with a cousin they hate if it means the two of them standing against a non-muslim.

I think even you'd be surprised how quickly your muslim friend will turn on you if you ever disagreed on one of their core subjects.

I've come to the conclusion that this election cycle most closely resembles that of 1928, when Herbert Hoover (who had never previously held elective office) used prohibition and bigotry against Catholics and Jews to beat Al Smith in a landslide. And hey, that's good news for Republicans, until you consider that Hoover's administration was a disaster, he was defeated by FDR in 1932 in an even bigger landslide, and the Republicans did not regain the White House until 1952.
But carry on.
 
itt we pretend that the massive escalation of rape in Sweden has nothing to do with refugees and North African immigrants, that overpopulation and underemployment in France have nothing to do with a large immigrant minority, that "Ficki ficki" parties in Germany are OK because most of the time it's only groping and not rape rape, that the universal rise in nationalist parties in Europe is purely xenophobia and nothing to do with the quality of immigrants and refugees being brought in.

Thank you and I feel you are correct.

However, the refugees that are wanting to come to the USA and Europe are not doing so because they "want to". They are fleeing civil unrest.

There is a difference between:

A - I want a better life for my family, let's move to the USA. I want to send my children to college and want better economic opportunities.

B - If we do not get out of here we are going to die, what nation will accept us?

Then there are the number of young men who are entering the USA and Europe. Women, chidlren and family men I can understand. Able bodied young men, no. they need to go fight for their nation.

Yes you are right, and there is a high level of possibility that potential terrorists can hide among the refugees. Quite simply there is a lot that countries have to do to handle this situation carefully and safely, but at the same time, most of those refugees are not trying to get into European or American countries just to undermine and destroy Western society, they are trying to get out of lethal situation, and into somewhere where they and their families can simply stay alive until the next day.

The immigrants in france were brought in as cheap labor, same as the chinese for railroads and blacks for picking cotton. Notice in the latter case that many in the US similarly rue that minority for criminality.

It doesn't. When they redefined it in 1998 (or thereabouts, not in a place where I can re-Google this right now) you did see a massive jump due to broadening of the definition, but in spite of that you still see a consistent increase for basically the entire period following. There is still a consistent trend upwards when much of Europe had flatlined or gone in the opposite direction.

The "changing definition of rape" argument doesn't work unless you're saying that the government consistently broadens the definition with every year. The poverty argument is horseshit on multiple grounds. First, rape is one of the least poverty-linked crimes. It is a product of culture that does not respect women's rights, and the study within that first link makes no effort to differentiate between it and other violent crimes. Second, what is a natural result of having too many workers and not enough jobs? Poverty. Excessive immigration creates poverty; when it comes to petty, property crime, I don't even blame immigrants that much. The real problem is a government that invites in more people than it can support, letting immigrants idle and rot on social services.
