i second that.
It sounds more like a "ball detent" type of design to me ... a spring-loaded detent ball moves in and out of a detent "pocket" in/on the mating surface to lock/unlock, or in this case, close/open. A solid, time-proven design technique used in a myriad of applications. Very low wear, spring fatigue/failure is the usual culprit if the mechanism breaks down, although wear of the detent "pocket" can also be a concern too, esp. if mating materials are mismatched.Spring loaded.....I wonder if there is a way to fire up the machine without opening the front panel to push the power switch all the time. Not a biggie but I always get latches that eventually wear out on my other consumer things. Sounds like the Lian 1100 is a quality product I'm just trying to deceide if shes for me.
