Sales of the GS and IS are way off, but when the new ones arrive, that will be a big incremental gain

Doesn't matter. Lexus already outsells BMW, has better customer service, has better built and more reliable cars with comparable resale value.

outsells, yes. better service, questionable. better reliability, yes. but the article is talking about converting BMW loyalists. BMW loyalists care about the feel of the car and driving experience more than anything...and i dont think lexus will be able to emulate that. I have driven a 330ci and a IS---. sure the bimmer had more power...but that aside, that car just felt more connected to the road than the lexus. This is just my opinion...and Im not even a BMW loyalist (as i dont own a BMW). In fact, i think bimmer are waaay overpriced for what you get. But the point the article was making...converting BMW loyalists...i think that will be a very difficult task for lexus...which is known to make boats

since when did the poster make that claim?

WOW, don't know about the other models but that GS is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Also, I'd like to see Lexus come up with something that compares to M Series, if they can![]()

It was always my opinion that the GS430 was the car that was comparable to the M Series (assuming you are talking about the Infiniti M45 and not the BMW M5). Anwyay, I'm not really huge on the new looks of the GS. It is possible that it will grow on me when I see it in person or from different angles. At this point it does look way to "fat" for me. Hopefully my mind will change when I see it in person. I didn't really like the new Acura TL until I saw it in person.

Considering that Lexus has a lineup of 4 sedans, 50% are geared towards luxury, and 50% are geared towards sport. Seems pretty reasonable to me and not needing of a blanket statement like that.
