i actually like the grill (doesn't work on much else tho). it's just that the rest of the car is too damn busy. HEY LOOK AT ME! I'M OVER HERE AND I COST A BUNCH OF MONEY!

Isn't that kind of the point of cars like this?

BTW-My local Lexus dealer has a white LFA in their showroom. It is SHWEET!!!

😵 Who is comparing cars? I'm comparing comments from supposed car enthusiasts and I think it's ironic is all.

Yeah. It's like those comments were directed at entirely different cars with entirely different sets of expectations.
It's like..the comments can't be compared at all, since the cars aren't at all similar.

I know you're mad not everybody shares your opinion but simple logic is still simple.

Well what is the point and market group for this car? They've neglected to call it a sports car, although it's close. That makes it more of a GT car like the 6 series a mb s-series equivalent.

If it's on the sports side then its competing with the likes of the 911, ftype, and amg gt.

The grill only works on a couple of their cars, and it really depends on how the rest of the front handles it. On any of their suvs its utterly horrid. Thankfully those suvs don't seem to be selling as well anymore so not as common to look at like the first gen rx.

Lexus LC 500 dominates 2016 EyesOn Design Awards

The Lexus LC 500 captured top honors for the best-designed production car and the best interior at the 10th annual EyesOn Design awards at the Detroit Auto Show. The awards are handed out by the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology.

The Buick Avista won the concept car category, just as its four-door predecessor, the Avenir, did last year. Other winners this year included the Chrysler Pacifica, which won for the best-designed production "truck" (as crossovers and minivans are sometimes categorized), and the Audi H-Tron Quattro, which won for the best concept truck. The Acura Precision concept was also recognized for its "innovative use of color, graphics, and materials." And the new Volvo S90 was singled out for its human-machine interface.

The panel of jurists this year included designers from an array of automakers and art schools. Several past honorees for the organization's LifeTime Design Achievement Award participated in the voting, including GM's Wayne Cherry, BMW DesignworksUSA founder Chuck Pelly, Hyundai's Peter Schreyer, and Jack Telnack (formerly of Ford). Telnack also served on the select panel of chief judges this year, alongside Chris Chapman from Hyundai, Dave Marek from Acura, and Stewart Reed from the Art Center College of Design.

I'm adding Lexus to the list of car manufacturers that are killing it right now. Right next to Mercedes Benz and Ford.

As far as I can tell, Lexus has hit a home run with its design language as of late and in a world of increasingly homogenized automotive appliances, these look unlike anything else.
But that's just one man's opinion, just because it's different doesn't mean it's any good. I think they're freaking hideous.

Like the RC, it's probably a decent car on it's own, but nothing really special when compared to other cars in it's class. Maybe they will prove me wrong, but I don't see it performing any better than an M6 or AMG GT S and doesn't look as good either.

^ This car is a 6 series and S class coupe competitor in the luxury GT category. AMG GT is a smaller, more performance oriented car.

EDIT: Actually probably an SL class competitor.
