Normally that is when the typer and writer are different.

So R/Bob means somebody with the first initial of R (secretary) typed it and Bob wrote it. Whenever you see a slash that's what that means.

Wow. It's been so long that I forgot about business correspondence etiquette.

Yeah like when CC really meant a Carbon Copy.
