Left Right does not work as explained below it's too simplistic and why we find seemingly opposites agreeing with one another every so often. Take the test and see where you are. At the end they have past and present leaders so one can see how they compare.

On the standard left-right scale, how do you distinguish leftists like Stalin and Gandhi? It's not sufficient to say that Stalin was simply more left than Gandhi. There are fundamental political differences between them that the old categories on their own can't explain. Similarly, we generally describe social reactionaries as 'right-wingers', yet that leaves left-wing reactionaries like Robert Mugabe and Pol Pot off the hook.
That's about as much as we should tell you for now. After you've responded to the following propositions during the next 3-5 minutes, all will be explained. In each instance, you're asked to choose the response that best describes your feeling: Strongly Disagree, Disagree, Agree or Strongly Agree. At the end of the test, you'll be given the compass, with your own special position on it.

That's horrible. Imagine how prosperous India would be if they never kicked the British out. Imagine all the innocent Indians that died because of Ghandi. All the people starving right now because of his socialist vision.

some of the questions were difficult to answer accurately...

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 4.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.00

That disagrees with most other test that I have taken where I am very much liberal economically (capitalist) but I always wind up dead center socially.

-edit-
I see now. Being farther right economically is more liberal so that makes some sense.

Ya, what the hell use is freedom, if it costs anything? Spoken like the freedom lover you are. Not to mention the historian, understanding why India wanted freedom.

In fact, that's what we need, one world government, to end war and suffering, everyone needs to accept the prosperity and benefits of the global government.

Thats pretty much what I figured... Liberal, but very near center.

My ideal govt would be the old school republican concept of small govt, low taxes business freindly environment, and govt staying out of private lives (I wish republicans still thought that way). On the social side, I am extremely liberal - anything and everything goes. Pro Choice, pro gay marriage, no religion is schools, etc, etc. Let people live how thay want to live, The govt should have no say in that. Just pay your taxes and dont be a criminal .

A question for people with the positive Authoritarian scores.. Do you want to be the one in control (or more accurately, for the ones in control to mirror your beliefs) or do you just like being told what to do?

Let's get real. The British were murderous thugs. If they were not basically kicked out, then they would have probably continued their many acts of genocide that there would probably be about 10,000 Indians left.

I would like to see a group of intellectual elites within power controlled by an outside force or group who can decide who servers on the council of elites. Whether or not I am part of that group or outside force.

Obviously I can go into more detail, but my belief is not anything new really, it has been around fro a while. :)

Also, on a side note people with authoritarian scores do not neccesarily disagree with the essence of democracy.(I don't)
