He got swept by a much superior team. That Cavs team did NOT deserve to be in the Finals, but Lebron willed them there.

As a 22 year old he had nowhere near the skillset to reliably take on a team like those Spurs. The gap between legit role players like Varejao and Gibson and legit Hall of Famers like Rodman and Pippen couldn't be more vast. I'm sorry, it isn't an apt comparison.

You made the comparison to the Bulls, not me. Don't fucking put words in my mouth. I said his team wasn't full of scrubs like everyone else wants to think. They're perfectly adequate pieces that would do well on a Finals team for anyone else. Reading comprehension is your friend.

Who was the second best player on that Cavs team? Ilgauskas? Hughes? Gooden? Gibson? Those guys wouldn't have been starters for the Spurs, or really most teams in the playoffs that year. I can't think of another team in NBA history that overachieved to the level that 06-07 Cavs squad did. They had one great player and a whole mess of journeyman and rode that to the NBA Finals.

So you'd trade Duncan and Parker for Varejao and Gibson? I'll let Cleveland keep Lebron and SA can keep Ginobili. Fair trade?

Ilgauskas would have started at C, and Hughes wouldn't have been a bad SG. Gibson over Parker? Nah, but I'd take him as a backup over Udrih or Vaughn.

Wow, you're a fucking retard.

I love how all of y'all just put words in my mouth. Go fuck yourself, vi.

If his team wasn't full of scrubs why did they go from being in the playoffs to having the almost the worst record in the NBA the next season? Do you think that had anything to with James being there for the playoff season but not there when they finished damn near dead last?

They were the definition of a scrub team, James literally carried them on his back, and despite them being scrubs he managed to get the team into the playoffs.

The Cav's had no real all star players outside of James, and honestly they didn't even have dudes worth mentioning. James taking that team to the playoffs was a mind blowing accomplishment

If you're trying to defend that Cavs team as pretty good, then I think you've lost all perspective.

He never had any perspective. He basically dislikes any nba star not on the spurs. He's just a mentally challenged homer who lives in San Antonio. He's a stereotypical ignorant Texan.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST YOU'RE ALL STUPID AS FUCK. I NEVER SAID THEY WERE "PRETTY GOOD" OR "HOLY FUCK THEY ARE THE ELITEST TEAM IN THE FUCKING NBA AND WILL BE THE BEST FUCKING TEAM EVER!" I SIMPLY SAID THEY ARE NOT A BUNCH OF FUCKING SCRUBS LIKE YOU FAGS ARE SAYING.

I don't live in San Antonio you retarded, ignorant fucking dipshit.

Not sure why the NBA brings out the worst in your; you've excessively thrown out personal insults in the NBA threads in the past few years. Results is the same. -Admin DrPizza

Are you always this upset when someone has the audacity to disagree with you?

you just tried to pass off Larry Hughes, Ilgauskas, Dwight Gooden, and Boobie Gibson as good players. I'd say that you were trying to defend his team as pretty good. Now go take your medicine, I'm sure your doctor doesn't like it when you forget.

Personally, I would go as far as to say that if Detroit didn't tank that ECF series, they would have been done in about 5 games.

Yeah, it was basically LBJ v the Sprus.

The season AFTER James LEFT they sucked big time, apparently you don't know what a scrub is. We're not talking they did even somewhat decent, they did worse than the Bobcats and the Clippers of 10 years ago.

They struggled every season before James, and they've struggled every season since.

James last year there 61-21
season after he left 19-63
2 seasons after he left 17-31

This isn't a scrub team?

Sorry. Hall of Fame teammates like Ginobili and Parker.

Better?

Good grief Lebron is a monster. He singlehandedly destroyed the knicks in the 4th. He is faster than the small guys and looks like a freaking monster amongst boys.
I'd love to have a time machine and watch the 93 bulls vs the current heat team. I think the bulls win but still the Lebron MJ matchup would be epic.

I missed the game but was watching Sportscenter today and they showed a highlight where he jumped for an ally oop and smacked into the back board and came crashing down. It makes no sense a dude who weighs like 275 can get elevation like that. It looks like his head almost hit the top lol.

Then they said something about he's being offered a million bucks to enter the dunk contest next year. I would love to see that, the alley oop between his leg messing around dunk he did last week was disgusting.

Wow.. Kobe.. those 3s in the dying minutes, seconds of the 4th.. so clutch! I need to rewatch that 4th + OT!!!!

I'd love to talk NBA, but I see no point in it as we'd just be talking about who's second best for at least the next 5 years.

Tell me, what is the point of about half the league? They literally have zero chance to compete, hell over half the league. Why not just have the NBA be like 8 teams? I'm not sure how that is good for the sport.

I don't live in any NBA city and have no favorite team, but god damn this sport is tough to watch when it's easily the least parity driven sport in the country.

They could definitely get rid of about 6 teams. But even then you are losing a good amount of guys that deserve to play at the highest level. No way in hell could you go to 8 teams. You'd be losing way too many great basketball players.

Yeah if they dropped 6-8 teams this league would be alot more competitive IMO.

Agreed, the teams are spread too thin right now. I think dropping four teams should be enough to raise the quality of play substantially. Trim some games from the schedule as well so players are more fresh and you will further raise the quality of play. There would be few games you wouldn't want to tune into.

What is this? a warning to spurs? don't forget 2012, we are not going to let you win no matter what... Kevin and Russel suck and swallow David the best, dont touch his boys...

Can't believe Spurs were running the ball up and down the court with a 17 pt lead when all they had to do was just play the clock... Pop was going insane!..even now they're jacking up 3s
