Isn't it weird how the top 3 point guards of the past 5 years have all had some serious injuries that caused them to miss large chunks of time? Makes me nervous for Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook.

And Tony Parker, I suppose. I always forget about that guy. He's sneaky good.
considering last season's hellacious 66-game compressed season with minimal rest, it's not that surprising in Rose's case. I know hindsight is 20/20 but add to that that Tom Thibodeau expects max. effort from his guys, and Rose was already banged up during the regular season, nobody was shocked when he went down. Thibs is a bit fortunate everybody would rather blame the schedule/league than his grinding style of ball.

Westbrook loves pulling up to miss a mid-range J, so he's relatively safe. :D

Chauncey Billups?

Eh, Chauncey gets quite a bit of play, particularly his return to Denver (his hometown) and now being with the Clippers. I'm not saying he's not overlooked, but he still gets media play.

Playing with Duncan and nothing particularly flashy about his game has hurt him. Also being a Spur. If he was a Laker he'd be the goat according to the media.

Parker's game isn't flashy? WTF are you smoking? You realize that he lead the league with the most points in the paint for a year or two, as well as being heralded as one of the best finishers in the game? He's also one of the fastest ...

In the 8 games that Duncan and Manu have been out, Parker had this tear:

Record: 6-1
PPG: 27.3
APG: 9.1
RPG: 3.4
SPG: 1.3
FT%: 83%
FG%: 72%
TOPG: 2.4
MPG: 33.8

Honestly, if you don't think he's flashy, you don't watch the Spurs. I don't watch LeBron, but I'd never make the statement he's not flashy.

Why don't you watch LeBron? What he's done over the course of the last year is the best basketball since Michael Jordan's prime. You may not like him personally, but if you let that keep you from watching his brilliance in action, you just flat out don't like basketball.

Because I do not like him. Do you watch every game that Is ever on? Probably not. Much like I do not like Jordan, I do not like LeBron. I think they're both shitty people.

I'm constantly amazed how just how fast Parker is and how he's able to consistently drive the ball to the paint and score at the rim. Love that floater

I don't watch sports to see displays of compassion and decency, I watch them to see amazing athletic performances. To that end, Jordan and James are two of the greatest athletic competitors in a game that really emphasizes individual skill. I think the fact that you would intentionally stop yourself from watching their feats based on their personality is sad.

Take Michael Vick. I think we can all agree he's a jackass. I'm also not a big fan of him on the field; I think he makes poor decisions and he's lost a step, so the running game no longer works out well for him. But there was a Monday Night Football game a couple years ago where Vick came out and had as near a perfect game as I've ever seen a quarterback have. It didn't matter that he's a douchebag who operated a dogfighting ring, for three hours he put on a spectacle that had me glued to my television. He's not winning any humanitarian awards, but if I wanted to see that, I wouldn't look to sports. I want to see superhuman feats of strength and will, and if it happens to be a self-righteous asshole who's performing them, so be it. LeBron has been mesmerizing this year, and that's something any fan of basketball should be able to appreciate without bringing his personality into it.

Last I checked, I didn't take anything away from their athletic ability. I don't give a shit about performances - I value athletes who perform off the court/field as well as off it. I refuse to get into an argument of who I like and why, because I've already done it here before and no one will respect the fact that I'm allowed to have an opinion - so either have a conversation why Parker is often ignored/overlooked or ignore me.

Fair point. Didn't mean to come off as an asshole. As far as Parker goes, I think a lot of it does have to do with the fact that he plays for the Spurs. They are always painted as a boring "fundamentals first" type of team, which is ridiculous because Parker and Ginobili are two of the most entertaining guys i the league when it comes to crafty moves. But they're seeing as winning in a boring way; good defense and fundamentals as opposed to highlight reel alley-oops like Blake Griffin or LeBron and Wade. That means less time on Sportscenter which means less time in the public eye and they kind of fade from consciousness. I keep seeing that the Spurs have the best record in the league, but the games don't get televised nationally and we don't see the highlights. Instead we get another week dedicated to the Lakers, and what's wrong with Dwight, or Pau, or hey, Kobe's throwing a lot of assists, eh? I think it's the curse of most small market teams; apart from the Thunder, the only teams we really hear about nationally are from New York, LA and Miami.

This is a huge problem with the NBA/MLB due to the amount of games. A lot of it is media hype, but it's also the expanse of the league. If LP wasn't so damn expensive to where I feel like I have to commit to every game of the season, I'd get it.

So Jordan and James are "scum" off the court but Tony Parker who was boning his teammates wife while being married himself is the model citizen:

Also funny was how (not his fault it seems) Parker was caught in a crossfire of champagne bottle glass between Chris Brown and Drake:

Parker's a retard, it's great he's so good at b-ball, because at a person he's a failure and a shithead. Him getting hit bottle debris is fucking poetic justice at its finest.

Yeah, anyone who says that parker is a better person than LBJ or MJ is fucking retarded.

Most NBA players cheat (who wouldn't when you travel a ton and women throw themselves at you?), but cheating with a team mate's wife? That's a low that most players don't reach. He's criminally unappreciated PG, though.

Funny, I'm not quite so sure where I ever said that Parker was a great human. Perhaps you can plug it into your ass since you won't find it in my posts - that were all about his unappreciated play. Thanks for playing the game. As for the cheating with Barry's wife - well, for one, it was sexting, but regardless, a lot of Spurs fans soured on him rather quickly.

I may talk a lot of shit about LBJ, and while I *have* said I wouldn't cheer for the Spurs if they got him - I'd be fucking stupid if I was like that. Same for Parker and whichever team you choose to cheer for or any other player.

As for that injury? Uh yeah, he was actually protecting his girlfriend at the time.

Again, I'm pretty sure that I never posted anything about Parker being a better person than either of them ... but he is probably better than you.

Wow ... I guess I'll use your own words to describe you. Except you're not good at anything, you're just "a person who's a failure and a shithead." Too bad I can't follow up that sentence paraphrasing yours as, "QueBert getting hit with bottle debris would be indicative of why he's so fucking retarded and posts comments in which he has no evidence of a person being a failure or shithead."

Wait, you're not Brent or Jon Barry, are you?

Parker is scum, he slept with a team mates wife, that makes him a worthless piece of shit. He's exactly 1 level above a rapist, so I guess technically he could be worse of a human begin.

Hmm, do you have proof he slept with Barry's wife? If you did, you'd have been on ESPN by now.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/03/erin-barry-affair-tony-parker_n_791510.html

If you want to spout lies and other bullshit, stick to P&N.

His wife divorced him over this and the other females man divorced her. Now I don't have proof as in a video, or having spoke to either of them about it. But 2 married people were accused of fucking, and both get divorced by their spouse. I would say yeah, it happened.

Sure both Parker and this other chick deny it, color me shocked...

You said you didn't watch LBJ because he's a shitty person. If you'd have just said, 'I don't watch LBJ often because I only have time to really follow my team," no one would be giving you shit. You're just a homer who hates LBJ for whatever dumb reason you've come up with.

LBJ left a pathetic team. That's it. He didn't rape anyone or sleep with a team mate's wife. By professional sports standards, LBJ is a saint.
