Lets start 101 reasons why to overclock...

Okay, I don't know if anyone is going to bother with this...but hey, I thought it would be cool to do.

I will start us off:

1. It's a better way of getting more bang for the buck.

(I think its the durons that are getting me in this wonderfull overclocking mood. 🙂 600's @ 900 selling for 175 bucks (can$), this is sweet! )

3. Warms up your rooms during those cold winter months 😛

(thanks for that positive reply Russ 😀)

edit: now reason 3, because I type too slow.

5: gives you overclocking knowledge you can past on to friends & makes you look good when you say "hey my 700mhz is doing 933mhz plus".

9. To force you to use lotsa fans and effectively create a fun lil hover craft that you can impress friends with.

Because the money you save by overclocking can be spent on $30.00 Alpha's,tons of case fans & a Dremmel tool for moding your overpriced case.
Also there's nothing like the terror in the eye, of a friend or relative, when you offer to Adjust the multiplier, Raise the voltage & Crank up the fsb on there po little 233 🙂
Toro🙂

7. You can tell people you've got super secret test samples and youre ultra cool cause your the only person who has a Celeron 550. You say "You can't buy these babies" as you chuckle under your breath😀

13. For the sheer joy of pushing all hardware to the limits.
14. For the gratification in gaining that extra FPS without having to upgrade for another few months.
15. Grinning as you give Intel the finger because you were able to get around their cpu clock lock.

It gives us boys something to measure other than our Johnsons! And, the politically correct crowd has taken away all the fun of tweaking cars, so all we're left w/ are computers!

23) B/c the Retail heatsink/fan combos are boring and gives one a damn good reason to spend extra on an after market one.

24) You can be one of the 1% that oc their procs and vid cards whereas the remaining 99% think it's immoral, heretical, or blasphemous, and think that the 1% minority are in a conspiratorial plot to overthrow the current government.

why overclock?
Because it is there (the 700e)
it secretly calls me to make it all that it can be..(did that sound like an army commercial??)

=O
