how about an atot irc channel, all requests could be diverted through that, also as it's realtime you wouldn't have to wait so long for players

Atot people don't seem to be irc people for the most part. It's not like there is some magic god of irc, if you want to start an atot channel, go start one somewhere and make a thread about it.

can't someone with uberbandwidth (read: pichosting) setup up an unofficial one?

An irc server for just atot people would not take much bandwidth (it's just text!)
