What's the downside to a single stickified thread again?

Why dont they set up a dedicated game server for subscribers? It would also give us non-sub's a little more incentive to sign up and then we could all play our games of monopoly, oragami or chess or whatever against the ATOT people.

My 2 cents.

Perhaps we could start posting these in Highly Technical instead? Monopoly is a pretty complex game and there's only about 111 threads there. :)

how about an atot irc channel, all requests could be diverted through that, also as it's realtime you wouldn't have to wait so long for players

The fact that most ppl would not check a thread and only think about playing when they see a thread.

I like the way you think.

This would be a good idea, but the fact is it will never happen I mean how long have we been waiting for an irc channel.

See sig.

#neochat has been the unofficial AT IRC channel for like 3 years. There used to be a lot more people there but it's still alive.

Edit - I seem to be excellent at finding hosts that suck at the internet.

Time to drop coin on a real host. CDN$100 a year isn't that much.

OK, here's another suggestion which I don't think has been put forth:

Have someone (or a group of people) who are heavily into Monopoly be the official posters for a Monopoly thread. We all agree to only have this one thread a day, something with a title along the lines of:

"*Official* Monopoly Thread - Tuesday, May 13, 2003"

When the day changes (Eastern time :) ), a new thread can be created.

We at least minimize this to 1 thread a day as opposed to 4 or 5.

The mods can then delete old threads when the day's over.

RishiS, that is a nice suggestion, but what about those of us who aren't really heavily into monopoly but would still like to play the occasional game? :)

Spyro -

Well I guess we don't have to officially designate people. If a thread is not created for a particular day, then anyone can go ahead and make a thread following the guidelines outlined. (ie: Stating the day in the thread.) If these rules aren't followed, then the mods have the right to delete that thread. The thing tho' is that we should make it known that you should ALWAYS search for a daily Monopoly thread and posting there, as opposed to just creating a new topic.

The main reason I said designate someone is because this seems to work well with another thread I actively participate in. Every Tuesday, Zim Hosein makes an "official 24 thread" for the TV show. Granted, if he didn't make one, someone else surely would, but most people tend to just wait for him to start it.
