Let's settle this once and for all: Cakes vs. Pies.

This is the new battle of the millennium, between the ultimate sweeties. Cakes vs. Pies. It's been much debated, but never settled and we never declared a clear winner.

We're settling this matter once and for all, right here.

Here's the way I look at it.

Cakes:

You can eat cake, anytime of the day.
Cakes don't go bad as quickly as pies.
There are infinitely more available flavors, recipes and style of cakes than pies.
Cakes are everywhere, people use cakes in virtually every occasions. From weddings, to birthdays, to just having a cake and eat it too. You don't hear "... have your pie and eat it too..." do you? HUH?
Hollywood stardom? You got it! Cakes were featured in many more movies, and the ratio of cakes to pies are just too large to count.

So, whenever I feel like something sweet, I can always have a cake. I don't need to bake any pies, messing with pans, and stuffs. Cakes are always available, from everywhere.

Cakes >>>>> Pies.

I'd have to assess this on a case by case basis. There are too many variables to make a blanket pie or cake decision.

Cakes all taste the same when you get down to it. Pies vary widely. In fact you could live almost entirely off pies as a meal source. Throw breakfast foods in for the morning, a meat pie for lunch, and a pot pie for dinner.

I didn't even mention all the fruit varieties.

Dude, you obviously haven't had much cakes. Cakes do come with varieties, and good cakes (I'm talking about GOOD cakes) with meticulous preparations will give your senses experience that you'd never have with pies. Pies, mostly will be fruity and gooey.

Do you know how many style none sweet cakes there are? A crap load, and that's a lot. Look no further than your Asian neighbors and ask them how many are there, then go down the list. I love the cakes they bake during Lunar New Year, the stuffs with sweet sticky rice, stuffed with meat and stuffs.. Yummy!

I'm not huge on either but I'll take pie. Pretty much the only cake I like is my Grandma's Torte Cake (well cheesecake is godly too), pies I like pretty much any fruit pie, pumpkin pie, even meat pie is good.
