Old pics. I'll get them updated once I get the top 10mm ~70" x 26" or so glass top replaced on my A/V center; it just mysteriously shattered one night out of the blue 🙁 Fortunately my AVR is so heavy (but not heavier than the 400 lb top shelf capacity) it didn't budge, just had chunks of glass trapped between the rubber feet and the rack frame.

Sanyo Z3 720p projector and Sony VW50 1080p projector, Denon AVR, and Definitive Tech speaker system with BP3000TLs leading the pack up front. Every console back as far as the Sega CD and SNES all active and hooked up (to include DC, Saturn, PS2, GC, etc) to as recent as a 360 and Wii. Haven't had a reason to get a PS3 yet. I use the 720p projector most for the 360 as most games are 720p native and bypassing the 360's scaler results in a sharper picture. Screen is a 106" Dalite perm wall screen. Wall plate includes s-video, component 1080p, and HDMI connectors to the projectors.
I prefer to hook everything up with HDMI/DVI and optical, then downgrading to whatever the max the source provider supports.

Will try to get better pics tonight if I find time to clean up the house a bit. Right now most of the stuff that was on the top shelf is scattered about the floor on various squares of tile laid out on the carpet. and there are cables everywhere 🙁
I will say though, cleaning up 50 lbs of tempered glass is so much fun...

Hehe, yeah there is actually a PC desktop running vista ultimate that is attached to the samsung 4065F (DVI>HDMI). You can't see it, because my room was in war zone mode during that pic. It's actually perfectly hidden behind the pioneer sub from the HTIB that I was testing. It's on the bottom shelf of the rack (just above the floor) and in the horizontal position. You can see both sides of the shelf, but the sub managed to just mask the PC as it was sitting about 2' away last night (have it boxed up again and ready to wrap for x-mas). The powerbook on the desk is also driving the dell 2407 in the picture as a secondary display (extended desktop... IE: non mirror).
I can't wait to get this rack painted over break and get my cables routed in some manner that doesn't make me want to throw up. You have no idea how much I resent the fact that my apartment complex wont let me run a full set of HDMI/component/etc... cables to my closet through the walls :/ Something about only being here for another 8 months....

The only thing that i dont like about those remotes is that to change from one thing to another it has to have a set path. i.e. to go from Cable to DVD, you have to be on cable, if say you were on XBOX360, then hit "watch DVD", it would just go (in my setup) to HDMI 1 rather than HDMI 2 (my setup cycles in that order). It's not an intelligent input cycling. i.e. sees what input you are at and then "hits the input button" the proper number of times. Thats what would make take the plunge and a universal remote.
I think i am asking too much since to my knowledge there is no remote that works like that. I guess it's a minor annoyance compared to all these remotes, but that's just me.
I would have that same issue, but I map the otherwise useless "+" key to be the "Next Input" button no matter what device/activity is selected. So I just hit the activity I want and everything is connected properly, except occasionally I'll have to hit the "+" key 2 or 3 times. It's still 100x better than having to go to multiple remotes.
And as VI said, if you have a receiver or TV that does not cycle inputs but rather has a button that will go directly to any input in any order, then the problem is non-existent. My next receiver is going to have HDMI upconverting so that I'll only have to run a single HDMI cable to my TV, regardless. So the only input changing will be done by my then-superior receiver.
Unless I am not understanding what you are saying I believe that is incorrect. I have Harmony and the remote knows which devices to turn off/on when you change modes. For example, if I am in HD-DVD mode and click "Watch TV" the remote knows to turn off all HD-DVD devices and turn on all TV devices (and change inputs etc). If the two modes share a device the remote will skip sending that signal. It is actually quite handy and doesn't require much complicated setup.
The remote specifically asks you how your inputs are cycled (direct button or multiple pushes of a single input button). If you only have a single input button the remote will send the correct number of "pushes" depending on the input the TV is currently on.

I never had a problem with it on my old TV which didn't have direct buttons for each input. My 880 always remembered which input I was on, as long as I used only the 880 to change inputs. My new TV has direct buttons for each input, so it's not a problem at all.

That's the thing I don't like. i have pretty much decided that i am going to upgrade the receiver to at Onkyo 605 or 606 once that comes out. That is the prefect price point for me. Once that happens, I pretty sure this last hang up I have will be taken care of (as vi said).
Hmm... CKDragon, that is a pretty fantastic idea. I didn't even think of that. You might have convinced me to get the Logitech! On a side note, I like the Logitech 1000, even though it's SO out of my budget; it's prudy. 😀

You can get the 1000 on Amazon for $299. Might be able to find it somewhere else cheaper.

If I talk about it too much I'll sound like a spokesperson, but between the Harmony remote and the DVR revolution, I have no idea how I put up with watching TV ten years ago. Even my fiancee has learned to love my unexpected home theater purchases... well, some of them.

Sony 50" Rear-Projection TV (I don't like it as much as my smaller Aquos I have in the living room, but it was dirt cheap). I have the Playstation3, Wii, and Xbox360 hooked up to it, and the xbox is hooked into the Logitech Z-5500 speakers, as well as the PC. I mostly watch movies in the game room instead of the living room, since the good couch is in here, and the HD-DVD and PS3 are in here as well. Just have regular DVD and TV hooked to the living room TV. I threw the Nintendo DS in the pic for good measure.
