Finally took a picture of mine:
office_setup.jpg

The cables are a bit of a mess... I designed the desk to avoid that issue, but I haven't been diligent about it. There is a support that runs across the underside of the desk surface, and behind that I have hooks for all the cables to keep them out of sight. I designed that desk so my wife and I could both work on our computers and watch TV at the same time. She sits on the right, I sit on the left. I have an HTPC that you can't really see behind my chair - it's just a $270 Acer PC that I stuck a TV tuner in.

The TV is pretty small - just a 26". But I sit close enough to it that it's still within the THX viewing angle specifications so it's all good. I mostly bought that for my Xbox 360. Before I bought that TV there was a 17" Dell LCD monitor that I was using with an external TV tuner in that spot.

The best part of my setup is the Aeron chairs. These things are a godsend. I had terrible back pain before, largely because I was constrained into a particular position by my fixed-back chair. I really like the Aeron's movable back, and I have the version that has the tilt limiter which is GREAT and a lot better than any tilt LOCK feature. When I figured out that it had a 12 year warranty and it cost about the same as 12 chiropractor visits, it was a no-brainer. Got one for the wife too.

Oh yeah, there's a Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 in there. :p

Yeah forget the setup, I was drooling at your chairs when I saw them. How much do those things cost??

Too much. But I got $100 off for buying two! :)

Yeah. The room is pretty small and has immovable obstructions (doors, radiator) in enough places to make it difficult to arrange furniture in a way that we were happy with. The intention was to build shelves above my side of the desk, but I don't think that's ever going to happen because we won't be in this house long enough to justify it.

Your name isn't seriously Jason Bonebreak is it? Because that would be darn near the awesomest name ever.

I just recently gave away my VCR after realizing that we hadn't used it in years.

Yup, that really is my name! Sometimes I wish i would have ended up in a more fitting line of work... something like collections agent perhaps... or Dr. Bonebreak has a nice ring to it.

The cable nest at the bottom is where my HTPC usually is, but it's down for repairs/upgrades at the moment. Also some cables in there for the XBox 1 I just pulled out earlier in the week that I need to weed out.

You're infecting this gaming forum with your Star Wars Jedi Power Battles poster. Make it stop!

I will make you an honorary Bonebreak! Enjoy!

Incidentally, my uncle's name is Don Bonebreak; which also happens to be the same name of the drummer from the rock band "X". Every now and again somebody asks me if I'm related to the drummer.

Out of curiosity, and completely off-topic - how is that Antec computer case?

It's like their gaming line or whatever, right?

I really wanted the P180/P182 but they're too tall for my desk, but the one you have would fit. Is it really quiet? I just got a new power supply for my system and it is fairly loud so I'd like to get a case that limits the noise as much as possible.

Also how bright is it? I'm not a big fan of the lights and open door, but if it's quiet and it fits I might need to get it and just short out the LEDs.

I like it a lot. I'm not a gamer, but I like that it has adequate cooling - and the fans are big, so I can keep them all on their lowest speed setting. That allows it to be pretty quiet. I wouldn't expect it to be as quiet as a Sonata. The main noise you'll hear is the drives I think; I have 4 drives in mine. I'd like it more if it had drive rails. I hate having to put screws in inside the case.

It's the Antec Nine Hundred.

Hey, I've got that exact same TV! The 57" version though, I think yours is the 51" model. It's an excellent TV. I'm actually trying to sell it since I'll be remodeling the living room and replacing that with a plasma.

Btw, Infinity speakers are awesome. I have the 750 model in black, is your model the 450 or 750?

I've got the 900 also and it's a trooper. Good cooling but it gets dirty quickly. But what else do you expect with a case that has as many fans this big.

I honestly wish it was a little bit bigger. I have a mix of SATA and PATA drives and cable management becomes a huge issue.

On topic, I'll post a pic of my setup once I get my TV back and paint the room.

Oh yeah, mine attracts cat hair like crazy.

All SATA drives in mine, but the wires from my power supply are a bit of a mess.
