how's this for macro?

somewhat more interesting

both made with a Nikon Coolpix 995 with the regular lens.

Has anybody ever successfully taken a picture of their own eye with a digicam? I just spent the last 45 minutes or so trying :frown: Damn hard. Yes, I was using a tripod, and yes, the Coolpix 995 swivels around so I was looking at myself on the LCD while it was taking the pictures.

w00t I got an eye pic

you can see everything in the room reflected in my eye! the camera in the middle, the lights at the top, my white t-shirt sleeve at the bottom, my hand on the top left side pressing the shuter button.... I also think it's interesting how my eyelashes were also reflected.

I use a Nikon CP4500 and love the macro capability. have several excellent macro pics but no way to insert them for viewing. but it's a great camera.

I just got my new camera, a Fuji 2650, last week, so I haven't had a lot of time to play with it - it's my first "real" digital camera. I just saw this thread and went to take some pics. I think I could get closer if there was any natural light, but what the heck, I think they look good for 2MP.

Some pics of my girlfriend's salt & pepper collection:
A Cat
A Clown
M & M character
A Pumpkin

A picture of the Mini Cooper from my 1:18 diecast car collection (note the metallic paint :D),

My dog, Costello (I don't think this was a macro pic, just zoomed in really close).

:)

Nikon Coolpix 995 with the normal lens.

Spooner on most cameras you push a button until a little Flower icon shows. On mine you can manually set the focus distance, and that's how I took my eye pic.

I can't believe that so many people do not know what a macro shot is. This picture isn't from a Canon A40 (great camera for the price), this is from my Canon S30 which I paid nearly $500 for in the Spring of this year.

Faith

Taken with a Kodak DC215 that I picked up for 50 bucks at a garage sale. Was hardly used, in new condition, with everything included in the original box. Didn't seem like a bad deal.

I think that's just the flash hitting the pupils that's why it looks cloudy like that otherwise it'd be a blind dog with pupils that cloudy.
