It's been awhile since I took those, so I don't really remember to be honest. I'm pretty sure it was just in auto mode with flash off and macro focus. It was the first day I had gotten the camera so I hadn't yet figured out the exposure settings and white balance and such.

w00t, glad to see you got your A40. Looks like RossMAN and I (and others?) did a good job of convincing you! Your macro shots are a lot better than mine! For some reason the focus lock just takes too long for me...or maybe I just have an unsteady hand? Anyways, heres my best macro shot. I've posted this like 3-4 times already.
Here's a couple shots I took of my solid snake action figure from McFarlane's MGS2 collection.

That one I just took. The lighting is never good in this room, so I took the shot in shutter priority mode to try and get it to look better. I just worked out too, so I was a little shakey. I adjusted the brightness a bit in photoshop

I took that one saturday morning. The lighting was a LITTLE better, but not by much. I was only awake for like 5 minutes, so my hands were not so steady. I think I took it in fully-automatic mode.
Both shots were done with Super-Macro mode, which is good to 1 cm. I was actually so close to Snake in the first shot, I kept knocking it over
Taken with the Fuji Finepix s602 Zoom, in 1 MP mode. I have a 3mp shot of a flower I took in regular mode, but I'm not about to rape my bandwidth by posting it here
The second shot is a better indicator of the kind of quality you can get with this camera, the second one isn't so great. I suppose if a more steady-handed camera operator was working with it, the first one could have been salvaged

Not really a Macro shot as far as I know, but it sort of fits into this category by being a very close-up shot. This is of one of my dogs, Faith, a pure bred Golden Retriever.

Taken with a Kodak DC215 that I picked up for 50 bucks at a garage sale. Was hardly used, in new condition, with everything included in the original box. Didn't seem like a bad deal.

Anyway, I have a Canon S330 and my macro shots suck!
I have it in macro mode, auto, flash off and all my pics still end up blurry.
I try to keep my hands as still as possible.
You guys have any tips?
Are you guys using a tripod?

Turn it on M Mode or P Mode. Use Vivid and set exposure up 1-2 notches. Turn the flash off (it will make the shot too bright), and turn Macro Mode on. Using a tripod definately helps. I like to set my timer to 2 seconds, and using a tripod. That way there is NO movement of the camera when the shot is taken.
