minendo....I used to live in that same complex! Good ole Waterfront!
LOL! Thanks for the pick-me-up. No, we don't live in Mountain Brook as any long time Birmingham resident could probably tell (if we did you'd see servant's quarters, a 5 car garage and about 3,000 more square feet of house.) We actually live in Pelham which is about 20 miles south of downtown Birmingham. This is another case where living a little farther out gets you WAY more house for the buck, although we got doubly lucky as most new homes in these days seem to feature the patio home sized lot with less landscaping. Ours is in a nice quiet neighborhood about 10 years old on a roughly 150' x 150' lot with lots of trees. We've been living here a little over 2 years and love it. On the average day it takes me about 20-25 minutes to get to work and 30 minutes to get home (my office is in Mountain Brook actually) so I do have to deal with a somewhat longer daily commute. But for everything else we ever need most things are within 5-10 minutes tops from our place with more stuff growing around us all the time as some of the nicest areas of town continue to push southward.Originally posted by: jumpr

Do you live in Mountain Brook? I used to live there (only for a year) and your house reminds me exactly of the houses in the newer part of the city.
