Starting with Megarace

"the track features a terrifying selection of symbols which signify things like
speeding up and slowing up and mabey even blowing up."

Then going to Red Alert

"Stop playing with that thing"

You can't forget Unreal

I especially like the music in that one. Actually Unreal music in general was awesome.

Battlezone

"Recycler, deploy on eastern geyser and build razor"

Freespace: The Great War

"They're coming, they can't be stopped"

Quake 1

The first FPS game I ever played. Probably the reason I'm a gamer

You know back in the early 90's when I was first becoming a computer junkie I had just started playing the first amazing console game like Tomb Raider, Resident Evil & Doom. Well some guy hired me to be a tech at his little computer shop. I had never seen many computer games up until this point. I had Doom and a few others was all. Well one day some guy from the coast guard came in and wanted us to work on his rig. The other tech and I turned it on and as a couple of inexperienced kids the first thing we had to do was check out what games he had.😀
I found and started Quake. I think he was running a Voodoo I card and when I saw the first timedemo I was like WOW!!!:Q FREAKING AMAZING!!!
Needless to say I was playing quake on my machine at home within 12 hours.
I was just shocked at how good that game looked. The 3D effect was surreal at the time.
Ahhh the memories.🙂

Lance Boyle was awesome in the first game. Probably one of the most memorable game characters I've seen. He was pretty lousy in the second game though.

Awesome thread!

Ok... first, keep in mind that the videos I've chosen are completely random, just to show the games themselves...

So that one, I played it too much back then, must have been deprived of sleep for two days just to finish it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Lq5YtR8x98 (lol at 0:33)

And of course, the very best game on the N64 (of course closely followed by Ocarina of Time, but yes I know that's subjective): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6m7c2FF4FA (and the soundtrack for that one was probably the best thing to ever happen on the N64 as far as music quality goes, too)

Now let's move back in time shall we? I played that one with my father! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iMM2vqrE08

I couldn't reply to this thread without adding that one too, I played it the most with my best friend back then, we had so much fun with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqzzX5niT-g and there was even a T.V show for it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0SN8w6f4_4

Now onto the Genesis for a moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQBpfXyHHVU

And back on the SNES, I loved that one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwBqKHg5hB4

I never finished that one, ever. But I still liked it, despite being very frustrating: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yD7PDgCyTDs

Ok and that one guys, for me, was a classic... unfortunately my copy eventually stopped working (God only knows why) before I could complete it (although I didn't play it that much, but I did loved it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FB9lddQ-fE

I can't forget that one either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siKWCcO77Tg (the narrator/reviewer is a little funny though lol)

Man I love this thread, I'll certainly post more later on.

*grabs popcorn*
