I'd probably look at some T-Fal or something, then remind myself that the hole in my heart can't be filled with kitchenware, and having nice pans won't give me a sense of self worth.

If it can't be permanently fixed, then it can be continually filled with delicious foods from your kitchen, which is just as good in my book :awe:

1 omelet pan
1 large skillet
2 sauce pans (small and large)
1 kitchen knife
1 paring knife
2 mixing bowls
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
1 baking sheet
1 baking pan
1 Spatula
1 Rubber scraper
1 large spoon
1 whisk
1 fine grater
1 colander

Hey, mine's very similar to your list except some things I have multiple sets (cookie/baking sheets, measuring spoons, measuring cups, spatulas). :awe:

Plus:

- Kitchen Aid mixer with 2 sets of attachments and mixing bowls (which I have)
- muffin/cupcake pans (i have 3)
- lasagna/roasting pan
- springform pan ('cause i occasionally bake cheesecakes)
- food processor
- baking rack (i bought a 3-pk set)
- pie plate
- cutting board
- crock pot
- double boiler (for dipping chocolate and/or making ganaches for my cheesecakes)
- dutch oven, which i've only used once so far

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but that's probably 90% of it.

I'd go to Home Goods or TJ Max and pick up a wooden spatula, green pan, cutting board, and a 3 piece knife set with kitchen shears that separate.

The rest of the stuff i'd wait until Demeyre has their yearly warehouse sale and buy stuff there for cheap.

I'll readily admit that I'm a total kitchen poser. I like having nice kitchen gear, but I hardly ever make food at home . . . maybe 0-3 times a year.

That said, I spent about a couple thousand on knives, a couple thousand on Calphalon cookware, and a few thousand on appliances (e.g. Vitamix blender, Blendtec blender, Zojirushi rice cooker, a couple of Omega juicers, etc.).

But there is one change would would make now with the knives. Originally I found a knife block from Henckel's that I liked:

Then filled every slot with Pro S knives.

But then Wusthof later released something even bigger with a 35 slot block:

So if I had to do it all over again, I'd switch out to the larger Wusthof for the looks. But I'll admit, it was hard finding different knives to even fit the 26 slot Henckels, so I don't know what I'd put in there. But I like the shopping aspect of it.

What do you need 26 knives for? Pretty sure you can only use one at a time!

I'd get some basics from the Dollar Store, then anything else I absolutely needed from Walmart.

You really dont need to spend a lot to have basic food prep items. I could probably get everything I need for 50 dollars.

Why get one with slots at all? Get a bristle block and you can put knives anywhere, and if you don't have a lot of knives at first it doesn't look empty because there's no missing slots.

I'd probably restock most things the same, except maybe for splurging on some better / more expensive knives. Pretty happy with what we've got otherwise:

Cuisinart Multiclad Pro pots & pans
One large, one small cast iron skillet
Nordicware bakeware -- cookie sheets, bread pans, etc
Vitamix blender
KitchenAid mixer w/ attachments

I'd probably get one of those cheapo $29 kitchen starter sets from Ikea, because I'm cheap like that.

At least my stuff would match, anyway.

I'd re-buy my KitchenAid stand mixer, maybe even upgrade to one of the professional models.

otherwise, I'd get a set of Global knives, a decent cast iron pan, a good stainless steel pan, large pot for things like cooking pasta or making soup/chili for a crowd, medium pot for general use, a couple cookie sheets, Pyrex glass casserole dish, and a slow cooker... also, throw in a couple mixing spoons (both wood and silicon), a metal and silicon spatula, and silicon tongs.

I go to the restaurant supply place. Far better quality for a fraction of the price. Granted, the cookware doesn't have some celebrity's face on a box, but the stuff is a lot heavier duty, more durable.

This. I also get much of my stuff from commercial suppliers.

The one thing that I am slowly starting to consider irreplaceable are my cast iron pans/skillets/dutch ovens etc... I have had some of those pieces for almost 15 years and have meticulously taken care of the seasning to the point where I can make crepes on them with minimal oil. I love the teflon like finish I have created. Sure I could get new cast iron pans but you cant get back that investment in time it took to get them just right.

20% off Bed Bath & Beyond coupons, I have like a dozen of them and have been using them recently. Last week I bought a OXO 15 piece kitchen utensil set and a OXO stainless steel salad spinner. Picked up a 12 piece Cooks Standard Ply Clad Cookware set off Costco, a Chicago Cutlery set off Amazon. And a Breville All In One off Ebay. Only thing I really want now is iGrill2 meat thermometer, and a Pantelligent pan.

Oh also bought a Nordic Ware Rolled Omelette Pan , sweeeeeetness! Rolled Omelette's imho are much better than regular omlettes

I needed some stuff for a high school fundraiser once, and went to a restaurant supply store. Since then, it's rare that I go to a normal retail outlet for kitchen related equipment - I go to the restaurant supply place. Far better quality for a fraction of the price. Granted, the cookware doesn't have some celebrity's face on a box, but the stuff is a lot heavier duty, more durable.

Then where do you get your dart boards?

Maybe you can only use one at a time!

Why do you need 26 different sockets? Pretty sure you can only ratchet one nut at a time!
Nearly every need as far as knives go can be met with three knives - 6 inch chef knife, paring knife, and a serrated knife.

Refrigerator with a freezer on the top.
Sink with running hot and cold water.
A Very Bright light on the ceiling, a small light over the sink.
A stove, a can opener, a Mr Coffee.
A small table and one chair.
One cast iron skillet, one medium size pot with a lid, one Large pot with lid.

Freezer on top... why?

I have that now and want a drawer freezer with french fridge doors.

Bottom freezer is so much better, since the everyday stuff is all at eye level. Never understood the appeal of the French doors though.

Nearly every bolt can be met with one adjustable wrench.

Sure, you can only use 3 knives, but there are tools for every job. Why don't you just use a machete for everything? Oh, that's right, because it is stupid.

Actually, if you were able to pull that off it would be pretty bad ass imho.

As cool as it would look, if someone was able to slice with such precision with a large machete, they would be an absolute wizard with something more wieldy and suited for the job.

Do you receive some kind of enjoyment from being incredibly negative and antithetical on the Internet?
