Lets say there are intelligent lifeforms on other planets - Do they worship the same god(s) as us?

Update:
All or some on earth's - Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Allah....
In Christianity, Hinduism and Islam the god said - "i will be baak" so maybe he visited them too...

people in different countries don't worship the same god, what are the odds that people on other planets do. I think a more interesting question to ask is what effect would discovering intelligent life would have on earth religions. Since they would, undoubtedly have their own religions that are "untouched" by what many perceive to be the one true god, could they still justify that their god was the only or correct god? On the flip side, what if the aliens were christian/muslim/hindu etc, would the non believers be proven wrong?

I understand that but in Christianity, Hinduism and Islam the god said - "i will be baak" so maybe he visited them too...

There are hundreds of gods worshiped on Earth, I'll bet if they were religious it would be trivial to find similarities between their gods and ours. The uncritical religious would use this as evidence that god is real (independantly discovered, can't be a coincidence!). Rational thinkers would see it for what it is.

World events and culture would most likely be the main factor that decides their religions. They probably would worship their sun and other such things that ancient civilizations of Earth did(if they are still an early civilization).

But then again, some other species on a different planet could have such a twisted culture some things may not be fathomable by us. Some strange ass planet that has 27 moons, a day/night cycle that lasts 2 hours, years lasts 4 centuries, daily meteor showers that kills them off, or perhaps an event that happens every so many years(ice, heat, radiation...)that almost their entire population dies off every cycle would influence religion.

Instead of trying to get a decent understanding of the possibilities, I'd rather just assume all possibilities and even those that I cannot fathom and stop there.

How amazingly self centered would one have to be to even consider that ones religion would be on other planets when it's not even universal on earth.

I'm sure they're out there right now reading up on how a humanoid named jesus died for their sins on another planet despite not having 8 tri-nippled breasts like their species.

Never underestimate the conceit of the faithful.
