Welcome to the real world. Most of us don't have the option of "not dealing with stuff" just because we have something happen. Wait till you get married and have kids, and you have a fight with your wife, or your kids are sick, or they're having trouble in school or whatever. Then you'll know stress.

What I said about burning bridges is 20x more important in IT. It's a small world - people know people, and people talk (I've ended up working for two of my former bosses at two different companies, each). Reputation can propel your career to great heights... or it can permanently injure you. It's up to you.

It's probably too late to undo what you've already done. The only part that's salvageable is how you handle your exit.

I understand that but I was going to quit in a week anyway so it was a decision I made as I would just not be able to handle call after call of angry people that day. Had I needed to job I would've got over it and went.

I'm not looking for a career in the IT field either, this job was more like a McDonalds type thing for me.
