Company policy says that within the first three months of employment any absence from work will result in a final warning. My car broke down at lunch one day and I missed the second half, resulting in a final warning. This was about a month ago.
The last two days I have missed work. My girlfriend dumped me and I have the flu, but since neither of those work as excuses I've taken advantage of the snowfall we had recently and said it was too icy to drive. This is partially true considering my truck is rear-wheel drive and can't handle the snow worth a damn. The past two days I've left a voicemail with the supervisor and not shown up for work, although most of today the roads seemed pretty clear.
I find it odd that I haven't heard from the company since when my car broke down they called me, my girlfriend, and my mom numerous times trying to find out where I was. This even though I had called one supervisor and the attendence line. Why aren't they trying as hard this time, and..
Do you think I'm fired? The next two days are my scheduled day off so I guess I won't find out until Saturday.
