I usually send some money out on Friday, giving a little back for being lucky I am healthy and employed in a decent job in these hard times.

Today I picked a dog named Winnie at www.adoptagoldenatlanta.com that needs heartworm treatment and another dog named Lexus that recently had to have her leg amputated and has other medical needs at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.

I sent them $50 each.

Maybe this could inspire some others that 'have it' to give some back too.

I'm gonna be adopting a lucky kitty this weekend at my local shelter and I donated to the Children's Miracle Network Fund, so I've done my good for this pay check :)

I donated to the Kony 2012 site already, so I'm pretty set for donations at the mo.

Cool.

I usually "donate" some cat food everyday out side to the stray cats [and racoons] who stop by our house on a daily basis.

It's funny 'everyone' has already donated when the subject comes up...:(

I gave to the local Small Animal Rescue Shelter last week and to a documentarian the week prior to help get his project off the ground. I don't donate when someone else says I should, I do it when I want.

This week was for me, I bought a region free Blu-ray player. :awe:

How can you afford to give donations when you are in debt?

If you are serious you should be able to get a tax-exempt form.

I go through about 20 cans of friskies per day and now I am up to 40lbs of dry food a week.

That reminded me I needed to make a final PayPal donation for the last bit of Child's Play matching (too small to bother with a game purchase).

I have a few charities that I give to besides Child's Play but I donate at different times of the year: food bank charity in May, local equivalent of United Way in December, etc.

I don't have much(any) extra money, but I "donate" when something benefits me also. When I buy a HumbleBundle game I give more than the average, and over Xmas I depleted a prepaid Visa by giving to Libre.fm, the developers of DeaDBeeF, and some commercial developers of a magazine who graciously gave me review copies.

I spend about two days a week at a community service center where I sort through and package food for people on an assistance program. I don't donate money, or food, however.
